Today is one of those days that makes me stop and remember exactly why I do what I do. 🥹🤍
Jewels has officially graduated from The Neighborhood Dog Trainer’s Service Dog Program. 🎓🐾
And somehow, that sentence feels way too small for everything it represents.
Service dog training is months of showing up—through the hard days, breakthroughs, setbacks, victories, frustration, tears, and those beautiful moments when everything finally starts to come together.
I’ve had the privilege of watching Jewels grow into a dog who can truly step into the world beside her handler and help her navigate it.
From public access to task training, and everything in between, every skill represents something bigger.
It represents independence, support, and a partnership that can change a life.
As a trainer, you pour so much of yourself into these teams. And then one day, you stand back and realize…
They don’t need you the way they once did.
That is the entire goal.
And somehow, it still gets me every single time. 🥹
Faith, thank you for trusting me with something as important and personal as your partnership with Jewels. Watching the two of you grow together has been such an honor.
And Jewels—my sweet girl. 🤍
I am SO unbelievably proud of the dog you have become. Every outing, every challenge, and every breakthrough brought you here.
You aren’t just finishing a training program.
You’re stepping fully into the job we’ve spent all this time preparing you for.
