If medications or food are needed please call the clinic before 3pm today Thursday Oct 8.

If you are evacuating and need copies of your pets records you may contact our office for emailed vaccine records or printed copies to pick up.

Love, love, love all our furry friends! They bring loads of joy and companionship into our lives. They keep life full and exciting. One thing they bring into our lives, that we may not love quite so much, ODORS.

To help combat the stink and give our shared spaces a pleasant aroma, Brightman Pet Clinic carries Pet Odor Eliminator products.
Currently available we have candles and sprays. Scents include floral, fruity, crisp and clean, sweet like fresh baked goods and much more. Not only are they awesome in our own spaces, they make great gifts for a host or house warming!

UPDATE: She has already gone home! We knew this cutie wouldn't take long to find a loving family ❤️

Special delivery! This little bobbed cutie was a surprise package brought to our clinic after a delivery driver found her crying out in a bush. We give special thanks to Kasey who has helped foster her during her itty bitty phase. Little Bun Bun kitten will be present for meet and greets starting tomorrow. Available for adoption through Brightman Pet Clinic.

Rattlesnake Vaccinations available by appointment with Brightman Pet Clinic

Dogs who hunt, join you for hikes or camping, or reside near a wooded area are at higher risk of coming in contact with a rattlesnake. Curiosity or a protective instinct can result in harm to your dog if they stumble across a rattlesnake.

The Rattlesnake Vaccine is initially a 2-part vaccine, with the second dose administered 4 weeks after the first dose. Once the initial 2-part series is completed the vaccine only needs administered once every 12 months without lapse.

Problem Pet Behaviors? Common issues include disobedience, excessive barking, destructive actions, separation anxiety and aggression.

Be aware a sudden change in pet behavior may indicate an underlying health issue. If your pet abruptly starts a negative behavior, contact their veterinarian.

Seeking help from a credentialled dog trainer or behaviorist can be very beneficial. Professional guidance can help to build the bond between you and your pet, improve overall safety, stress levels, and mental health by establishing reliable commands to better communicate with your pet.

We are very fortunate in our area to have a variety of pet trainers offering behavior consultations, behavior modification training, and group or private obedience training. For the high energy or under stimulated canines, consider meeting with a local trainer about agility or scent training.

When it comes to behavior modification or stress management, some pets may require additional support from prescription medications dispensed by their veterinarian.

August is Itchy Pet Awareness Month
Scratching, persistent head shaking, repeatedly rubbing against the floor or furniture, excessive chewing or licking are all signs of serious itch.
A veterinary exam can help to determine the source of your pets itch.
It is best to seek veterinary attention before the skin becomes heavily inflamed or injured, to avoid secondary skin infections.
There are many options available to help your itchy pet, including vitamins and supplements, oral medications, and/or injectable medications.

Back to School time is here!
For some pet owners, that means big routine change.
Some pets will be unattended for longer periods. Make changes early to prepare your pet. If you are worried your pet may become bored or lonely adjust walk or play times to help burn their energy, puzzle toys can be used as stimulation for both our feline and canine friends, and leave on a radio or noise machine to provide background noise.
Some dogs will resume Doggie Daycare. Be sure to confirm your dog's vaccine and preventative medication status. We always want to keep them protected from social illnesses like kennel cough and parasites.

Please keep your pets cool with this summer heat! Keep them indoors during the hottest parts of the day, adjust walking schedules to cooler times, and always provide a steady supply of fresh water. Never leave your pet in a parked car, even for short periods. Cooling mats, fans and wading pools are great ways to offer relief from the heat! Stay informed of the signs for heat stroke. If you suspect your pet is experiencing heat exhaustion or heat stroke seek veterinary attention.
