At SML, everything starts with a strong foundation. Our puppies come from carefully selected AKC Champion and Grand Champion bloodlines, bred for stable temperaments, strong structure, and the classic “gentleman’s dog” personality Labradors are known for.

But we don’t stop with breeding.

Every puppy is raised with intentional structure, early socialization, and hands-on development. From crate and house training to early obedience foundations, we invest deeply in the first stages of a puppy’s life because those early weeks shape the dog they will become.

Because at the end of the day, we’re not just placing puppies, we’re helping families welcome a companion who will walk with them for the next 10–15 years.

We asked one of Gene’s boys to write some things down about his dad most wouldn’t know. 🫣💚

My dad is my hero for a lot of reasons, and to save us time, I’ll only name a few.

My dad is the hardest working man I’ve ever met. He doesn’t just have dreams that float off into space… he believes in himself and makes things happen.

He has modeled family values for me at a level most people only dream of. 🏡 He has loved my mom with everything he has ❤️, and he has given my brother and me a life we didn’t deserve.

But the greatest thing about him is his heart and passion for Jesus Christ. ✝️🔥

He has devoted his life to loving God and loving people through that lens. He’s never been shy about what God has called him to do in this world… help people!! 🙌🏼

My dad lives and preaches the love of God every single day… and sometimes he even uses words to do it. 😉

And he brings all of that into his work.

His passion for dogs isn’t just about raising Labradors. 🐾💚 It’s about helping families experience the joy of welcoming a new family member into their home. 🐶🏡

He cares about the bloodlines.
He cares about the health.
He cares about where every puppy goes.

Because to him, this isn’t business — it’s legacy. 🌾
