Coco’s Animal Rescue Efforts of Seymour (CARES) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) that cares for and shelters abandoned and surrendered cats and dogs until we can find them loving homes. We promote and educate about spaying and neutering.

Some of our kitties are revealing some of the scariest things! We try our hardest everyday to make them feel as safe, loved, and cared for while they are while with us. But sorry Claude, we still have to sweep your kennel. 🤭

We hope all of our cats have a chance to curl up on a couch and watch a horror film with their favorite humans soon. 🎃

Happy Tails!! Sweet Kane went home this morning! He has a kitty sister waiting at home for him. Happy life buddy!

Will Emmet win the costume contest at Smoke in the Valley this year? 🐞🐞 He’s trying to prove he can be an ambassador kitty for all the other cats at the shelter. 😂

While he likely won’t be joining us this Saturday (10/24), you should!!! Go to BAD SONS website to buy tickets to this fun adult event! Drink some b**r, buy some food and support your local shelter all at the same time! We’ll have some crafts and swag to buy for the pet lover in your family. 🐾

🚨 New Kitten Alert 🚨 X 2!!

Minx and Jinx are just tiny little babies currently living the good life in foster! TEENY TOEBEANS is really all that matters from these two… did you see them? 🍬

Jinx is a friendly outgoing boy, who comes for a cuddle and purr in between bouts of playtime. Minx, his sister, is a bit reserved but her foster states, “she loves belly rubs which kickstart her purrs.”

What could be more perfect than lining up to adopt two adorable kittens in October? 🖤 🎃

While they aren’t quite ready to walk out the door, if you’re interested in this pair, fill out an application on our website. https://seymourcares.org 🐈‍⬛

We regret to inform the community that we are closed to intakes until further notice, please contact your town’s animal control if you need assistance. We took in many intakes this week, and until we can adopt out more kitties we are at capacity. We receive more rescue and surrender requests than we can keep up with. Thankful for all our volunteers and community support!

New Cat Drop!!! 🐈‍⬛

Boris the Bulgarian prince (gray cat) 👑 was exiled from his homeland (dumped) for reasons us mere peasants cannot understand (no possible excuse). Having had a royal upbringing (indoor cat) he did not have the knowledge to find adequate sustenance (he was starving). His efforts to find refuge (trying to get into peoples houses) were repeatedly denied until he happened upon some magic (he was rescued!!). 🧙

Now while he awaits to regain his rightful royal place (be adopted), he’s been given accommodations with food, water, bedding, and even servants to ensure his happiness (volunteers).

If you’re ready to add a king to your castle, fill out an application at https://seymourcares.org/adoptions 🏰

We’ve only had Boris a few days but this guy is giving off major lovebug/ lapcat vibes. 🩶🩶🩶🩶
