🐾 CLARK IS WAITING FOR HIS TURN. 🥺

When Clark came to us, he was severely neglected — found as a stray on a broken chain, painfully thin and with his ribs showing.
But that dog is becoming a distant memory. 💙

In foster, Clark has learned what it feels like to be safe. He’s discovered toys, figured out house manners, learned his commands, and even made himself right at home with FIVE other dogs. He runs laps, plays, entertains himself, and has the goofiest personality once he feels comfortable.

Clark is still a pup at only a year old. He can be silly, jumpy, and just like all dogs, needs someone willing to keep training him. But underneath all of that eagerness is a young dog who is learning, growing, and so ready for his own person.

Clark has already survived the hard part.
Now he just needs someone to show him that his forever is out there. 🏡

Board members play a vital role in shaping the future of our organization — helping with leadership, fundraising, outreach, and ensuring that every dog and cat in our care has the best chance at a happy, healthy life. The Board of Diectors meets monthly on top of various other time commitments.

Leo absolutely ADORES his people. Once he knows you, he is incredibly loving and loyal. He's a total couch potato when he's relaxing, but he also has some high-energy moments and LOVES to play fetch. 🎾

His foster home has learned a lot about this sweet boy, and now we know about what kind of home will help Leo thrive!

There is truly a personality and energy level for everyone. And every single one of them has the same wish: 🏡 A family to call their own.

These dogs have spent enough time waiting. They've watched other dogs walk out the door with their families, and they're still here hoping that today might be their day.

We're especially eager to get these pups into their forever homes not only because they 100% deserve it, but because there are more dogs who need Blue River's help, and we need to make sure we have the room and resources to continue saying YES. 💙

This pup is very scared, so PLEASE DO NOT APPROACH, CHASE, or attempt to catch her. If you see her, keep your distance and contact the number below with the location and direction she is traveling.

‼️From abandoned & neglected to happy & ready for a forever family; Meet Clark! 💙

Clark's story didn't start out very happy. He came to us after being severely neglected, found as a stray living on a broken chain. He was extremely malnourished, with his ribs clearly visible. 💔

But look at him now. 🥹

Clark has been in a foster home for the past few weeks, and he is doing AMAZING. He's getting stronger, learning what it means to be safe, and discovering that being a dog can actually be pretty fun.

Clark is a typical pup who hasn't had much socialization, so new people and environments can take him a little time to be comfortable in. But once he decides you're cool, his active, goofy personality comes shining through!

His foster says he gets along with all five of their dogs and happily entertains himself with toys and running laps around the yard. 😂 He's also done well with confident cats, although a cat who runs may activate his inner chase instinct!

He's already making great progress:
🐾 Learning his house manners
🐾 No recent accidents
🐾 Knows "sit"
🐾 Working on "down"
🐾 Loves toys and playing
🐾 Gets along with other dogs
🐾 Learning to trust and socialize
🐾 Soft, silky coat — likely a lab/golden/collie mix!

Clark is still young and learning, so he's a bit mouthy and likes to jump. Because of that, small children may not be the best fit unless their family is prepared to invest time in consistent training.

This boy has come SO far from the scared, starving dog we first met. Now he's ready for the next chapter.

Clark is ready for his forever. 🏡 He deserves a family who will continue showing him what love, patience, and a safe home feels like. And we know that family is out there.
