POV: You finally meet Genna, the cat who’s been waiting for you.

This big beautiful girl is 10 years old, and if there’s one thing Genna wants you to know, it’s that she has plenty of herself to go around. She’ll happily make biscuits, head butt against your knees, and soak up your attention… right up until she’s decided she’s had enough.

And when Genna is overstimulated, she may give you a little chomp when she feels you’ve exceeded your allotted petting time. She’s not looking for trouble! She just needs someone who understands her boundaries and knows when she’s saying, “I love you, but I need you to stop touching me.’”

Because of that, Genna would do best in a child-free home where her signals can be respected. She has previously lived with another cat and did well, so a feline friend may be possible with the right match and a proper introduction.

But here’s the part that makes our hearts hurt…

Genna originally came to us after her owner had to move in with a sick relative to care for them and sadly could no longer keep her. Before coming to the shelter, Genna had a home, a family, and another kitty companion. She lost all of that through no fault of her own. 😔

She’s now been waiting back at the shelter 1 year and 4 months for someone to give her a home again. So here she still is. Still counting the days. Still showing everyone everyday just how much of her there is to love.

Genna isn’t going to be the perfect cat for everyone; we know she isn’t without her quirks. But she has to be the perfect cat for SOMEONE out there. Someone who will give this senior girl the home she lost and let her spend her golden years knowing she’s finally, truly home.

At a whopping 18 lbs, there’s a LOT of Genna to love, and after 1 year and 4 months, we’d really love to see someone get the chance and give her a loving second act.

Genna has all been vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV and FELV.

We are open for adoptions everyday from 12:00 PM- 4:00 PM aside from Mondays and Wednesdays. We are located at 8790 Guilford Rd Seville, OH 44273

A HUGE thank you to The Frosty Gator for helping us make this year’s staff and volunteer appreciation event extra special!

Every year, we take a little time to celebrate and thank the incredible staff and volunteers who give so much of themselves to the animals in our care. This year, we decided to do something a little different and brought in The Frosty Gator to provide the food AND dessert, and we couldn’t have been happier with that decision!

Everything was absolutely delicious, and having a food truck come out made the whole afternoon feel like a true celebration. From the meal to the sweet treats afterward, it was all so yummy and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! 😋

To the team at The Frosty Gator, thank you for helping us show our staff and volunteers just how much they are appreciated. We are so grateful for businesses in our community that help make special moments like this possible!!

This annual event raises funds for local charities such as ourselves!

There will be food, beverages, live music, giant inflatables, a balloonist, face painter, food & craft vendors and more to enjoy!

Frankie is still waiting😭😭💔

Frankie came to us after being abandoned by the person who was supposed to care for him.

He arrived covered in fleas, suffering from significant hair loss and an uncomfortable skin infection. And as heartbreaking as it was to see him in that condition, it was clear that his story didn’t begin with abandonment. Somewhere along the way, Frankie had stopped being cared for the way he deserved.

But despite everything he has been through, Frankie has never stopped being the sweetest, most laid-back boy out there.

And as awful as the circumstances were that brought him to us, we are incredibly grateful that we’ve had the opportunity to love Frankie and give him the comfort and care he that he should have had all along.

Now, after 5 months at the shelter, Frankie is still waiting. Waiting for someone to choose him, and, most importantly, keep him!!

Frankie is an 8-year-old Pit Bull mix who enjoys taking life at his own pace and would love a home where he can simply relax and enjoy the company of his people. Frankie can be selective about canine companions and prefers calm, low-key dogs who respect his space. He isn't interested in roughhousing or high-energy antics, he'd much rather quietly coexist with a mellow friend. Frankie walks nicely on leash, has excellent manners, and is looking for someone who appreciates the slower things in life. We are unsure how he does with cats.

Frankie has already lost the people who were supposed to love him. He shouldn’t have to spend another day wondering if anyone will choose him.

WHO DID IT BETTER? 👀

We may have found the only cat in Ohio who can compete with the one and only Tim Misny and the infamous eyebrow!

Loca came to us with a bad facial injury, but thankfully, that injury has completely healed. The only thing it left behind is her permanently raised eyebrow 🤨

But behind that suspicious little face is a sweet, silly kitten who has already been through far more than any 7-month-old should have. Loca can be a little shy when she first meets you, but once she decides you’re okay, her playful personality comes shining through. ❤️

So we need to settle an important debate:

🍦A HUGE thank you to Skoops!🍦

Yesterday, our doggies got a very special summer surprise! Skoops kindly took the time to make and deliver some delicious pup cups for our shelter pups, and needless to say… they were a HUGE hit!!

Even dogs deserve a little frozen treat every now and then! Seeing their happy faces, tails wagging in anticipation, and big tongues enjoying their pup cups was absolutely priceless.

Thank you Skoops, for thinking of our dogs and helping make their day a little sweeter! We are so grateful for this wonderful relationship and the businesses that go above and beyond for the animals in our care!❤️

🚨 ABANDONED PUPPY FOUND ON I-76 EAST; WE NEED YOUR HELP 🚨

This morning, we received a call from the Ohio State Highway Patrol regarding a heartbreaking and completely unacceptable situation. A small puppy was found abandoned in a crate on the side of I-76 eastbound in the Seville area.

Someone made the conscious decision to leave this puppy behind in a crate along a busy interstate, putting this little life at tremendous risk. This puppy was completely dependent on someone to provide for their safety and wellbeing. Instead, they were simply left there.

Animal abandonment is a crime in the state of Ohio. Depending on the circumstances, abandonment may be charged as a misdemeanor of the second or first degree.

We are asking everyone; Did you see anything this morning?
Did you witness someone leaving a crate or stopping along I-76 eastbound in the Seville area? Do you recognize this puppy or have any information that may help us identify their owner?

Bubba’s Happy Ending 🤎🤎🤎

We had a long, heartfelt post ready to share tonight about Bubba; how long he’s been waiting, all the ways we’ve tried to give him the exposure he deserved, and how badly we wanted to see him find his family.

But after 11 months at the shelter, Bubba found his family today. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

We couldn’t be happier for Bubba and his wonderful new family. He has waited a long time for this moment, and we know he is going to be so loved and cherished.

Goodbye, Bubba. We hope your forever is everything we dreamed it would be for you!! ❤️
