Sometimes you need a little extra time to make sure a new pet is the perfect fit — and that’s exactly what our trial adoption program is for!

🐾 Can’t bring your current dog for a meet & greet?
🐾 Have cats or other pets at home you want to introduce slowly?
🐾 Need to make sure every family member is on board?

💗 A trial adoption gives you two full weeks to get to know your new friend in your own home and make sure everyone — pets and people — are happy and comfortable. Our goal is to set you up for success, and trial adoptions are one of the best ways to do that. 💗

Veterinarian help needed!

We are looking for a compassionate veterinarian, who can do on contract work at the shelter 4-8 hours per week. Pay rate is negotiable. Please email our director at [email protected] if you may be interested.

Here are a few examples of the vet care that we often need help with:
🩺 heartworm treatment
🩺 wound care
🩺 cruelty exams
🩺 assessment exams to create treatment plans
🩺 medication and equipment ordering (after protocols review)
🩺 eye stains
🩺 f***l reads
🩺 splinting
🩺 medical rounds
🩺 bloodwork
🩺 Skin scrapes
🩺 boy howdy…. we will definitely have a lot of interesting cases for you!

We are looking for someone who is willing and able to speak with foster parents and adopters about treatment plans as needed. Must have appropriate licensing.

From botflies to mange to URI, we have a lot of injured and sick babies come to our door!

The sweet babies at Sevier County Animal Shelter need a little extra love right now.

We are looking for compassionate hearts to open their doors and provide a temporary, loving environment for our kitties who need a safe place to heal, grow, and thrive!

The shelter will provide everything; you just provide the space and the cuddles! (A spare bathroom, office, or bedroom is plenty of room to change a life!)

🙏 Our sweet, senior boy Pugsley needs a hero!🙏

Out of all the dogs in the shelter, Pugsley has been here the longest waiting for a loving home– 282 days🥺😭 and he is getting so depressed. Almost a YEAR behind a kennel door in a shelter is no place for a senior dog 💔

PLEASE, we are BEGGING for someone to give him a chance!! 🙏

✨Quick facts: 10 years old, 58 pounds, fully vetted and housebroken. Expert b***y wiggler.

Pugsley has gone on several field trips and sleepovers with volunteers. Here are some of the things they had to say about him:
“ This old fella steals your heart. He is a laid-back couch potato who sometimes gets the zoomies. Pugsley is very low maintenance and and well trained.”

“Pugsley is such a great dog. I appreciate that he is housebroken and I can also leave him alone without him tearing anything up.”

“ He is super sweet and easy to handle. He knows sit and loves treats. Great on a car ride and plays fetch.”

Pugsley‘s adoption fee has already been paid! We will be open 1 to 5 PM today.
