Title: Kennel Technician (Part-Time)
Location: Severn, MD
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:00â10:00 AM and 4:00â7:00 PM
Compensation: $16/hour

Looking for someone to help with dog care at Limitless Canines. The Kennel Technician is responsible for the day-to-day care of dogs as well as maintaining cleanliness. You will be handling dogs with behavioral issues, so following safety protocols and openness to all balanced training tools is key. On-the-job training is provided.
Ideal candidate DOESNâT MIND CLEANING P**P AND IS DETAIL ORIENTED. This is a very important job because successful training cannot happen without a tidy and sanitary environment. If you just want to play with dogs all day, this is not the position for you. If you show reliability and a hunger to learn, we WILL invest in your education as a trainer, but daily care of the dogs comes first.

Role Purpose
Ensure dogs in our care are safe, clean, and calm by executing daily care routines and maintaining high sanitation standards, including with dogs who have behavioral needs.
What Success Looks Like
1) Safe, sanitary environment every shift
-Checklists completed within the allotted time
2) Dog care completed accurately and on time
- Feeding, water refresh, and medications completed per SOP with zero misses.
- Behavior/health notes captured and issues escalated per safety protocol.
3) Calm, safe handling; including behavioral cases
- Dogs are moved with proper technique and equipment.
- Incidents are prevented by following safety measures
4) Dependable coverage and communication
- Shifts start on time; handoffs are clear; no tasks left incomplete.
- Issues are flagged early and handled by the right person
Key Responsibilities
- Sanitation: Clean crates, wash bowls, vacuum, mop, tidy storage areas.
- Dog Care: Feed, water, administer meds; rotate dogs for potty/exercise; restock supplies.
- Checklists & Reporting: Complete daily task lists; log behavior/health notes; report maintenance or safety issues immediately.
- Weather-Ready: Work outdoors in heat/cold/rain.
-Ready to Work Holidays: Dog boarding and training is a very vacation-based business, and working certain holidays is required.
KPIs (Measured Weekly/Per Shift)
- Sanitation pass rate: 100% checklist completion; 0 missed zones.
- Care accuracy: 100% correct feeds/meds; 0 mix-ups.
- On-time performance: 100% on-time shift starts and task deadlines.
- Incident rate: 0 preventable safety incidents; 100% incident reports submitted within shift.
- Rework/coach-backs: Fewer than 2 per month after training completion.
Requirements
- Age 18+; high school diploma or equivalent.
- Available for required shifts (Sun/Mon 7â9 AM and 7â9 PM) consistently.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
- Able to walk/stand for a full shift
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
- Able to follow SOPs and use training tools after training.
- Attention to detail, maturity, good judgment, and professionalism.

Success Plan 30/60/90
- Days 1â30 (Learn): Shadow and learn SOPs; pass sanitation and safety checks; complete checklists with supervision.
- Days 31â60 (Apply): Run full shift block independently; 100% checklist completion; 0 feed/med errors; clear handoffs.
- Days 61â90 (Own): Consistently meet KPIs; proactively spot and improve inefficiencies; able to coach a new hire on sanitation SOPs.
Growth Path
- Potential to progress into added responsibilities or assistant trainer track after sustained KPI performance and hitting education milestones with our team.
Compensation & Logistics
- $15/hour to start; part-time. Uniform/PPE provided per SOP where applicable.
