I’ve definitely been seeing horses affected by repeated stomping. Especially with these relentless flies this summer!

🪰Could Fly Stomping Be Making Your Horse Sore? 🪰

Fly season isn’t just annoying, it can take a toll on your horse’s body.

Hours of repeated stomping, shifting weight, swishing, and tensing up to avoid biting flies can lead to:
• Muscle soreness and fatigue
• Tight shoulders and hips
• Neck and back tension
• Compensation patterns that may affect movement and performance

While fly control is the first step, it’s also important to recognize when those repetitive movements have left your horse feeling stiff or uncomfortable.

Keeping your horse comfortable during fly season means addressing both the cause and the effects. Regular bodywork can help relieve muscle tension, improve mobility, and keep your horse moving and performing at their best.

Have you noticed your horse becoming stiffer or more sensitive during fly season?👇
