Sit. Stay. Learn. With Bella & Bows! Your Groomer Notices Edition.💕 Why do groomers sometimes notice changes before owners do?
Because during a grooming appointment, we’re routinely putting our hands on areas that pet parents may not see or touch every day. While bathing, brushing, drying, trimming, and handling your pet, our stylists may notice something that feels or looks different from their normal baseline.
A new lump or bump. A change in the skin. Irritation, redness, or a sore spot. Changes around the ears, paws, nails, eyes, or mouth. Even something as simple as your pup reacting differently when an area is touched.
And noticing something doesn’t mean something is wrong. Groomers don’t diagnose medical conditions, but because we spend so much hands-on time with your pet, we can sometimes be the first to notice that something is different.
When we notice something unusual, we’ll let you know so you can keep an eye on it and, when appropriate, follow up with your veterinarian.
We care about more than how your dog looks when they leave. We’re paying attention to how they look, feel, and behave throughout their groom.
