☀️ Florida heat can be dangerous for pets—sometimes in just minutes. 🐾
A parked car can heat up fast, even with the windows cracked, putting pets at serious risk for heatstroke. Hot pavement, asphalt, sand, and sidewalks can also burn sensitive paw pads before you realize it.
🐶 Pet Safety Tips:
🚗 Never leave pets unattended in vehicles
🌡️ Walk early morning or later evening when surfaces are cooler
🖐️ Test pavement with your hand for 5–7 seconds—if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them
💧 Bring water and take frequent shade breaks
🐾 Watch for signs of overheating: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse
If you think your pet is overheating, seek veterinary care immediately.
Stay safe and keep those paws protected this Florida heat season! ☀️❤️
