Important medication recall for pet families

Wedgewood Pharmacy has voluntarily recalled certain compounded veterinary medications because they may contain too much or too little of the active ingredient. Affected products were shipped between February 18 and October 6, 2026.

If your pet takes medication from Wedgewood, check the medication name and lot number using the recall lookup:

If your medication is included, stop using the affected product, keep it, and contact your veterinarian promptly for a safe treatment plan. Call Wedgewood’s recall services at 866-562-5931 for return or replacement guidance.

We know medication concerns can feel especially stressful when caring for a senior pet or a pet with ongoing health needs. If Helping Hands Pet Hospice prescribed your pet’s medication, please reach out to our team for guidance.

It’s National Veterinary Technician Week! To celebrate our CVTs, Natalie and Candace, Dr. B shared a little history about how they became part of Helping Hands Pet Hospice.

Natalie and Dr. B first met when they worked together at a shelter. Later, they met up again at a spay-neuter clinic. After that, they found each other at another shelter. It’s almost like they were meant to be a team!

Natalie has been with Helping Hands since 2022, working both as a technician doing house calls and in reception. We’re very sad she moved away, but so happy she’s still working with us!

Candace came up to Dr. B after a lecture at a conference, and they hit it off immediately. Along with their passion for health care for pets, they shared an interest in wellness for veterinary professionals. Candace answered phones for Helping Hands so Dr. B could be out in the community helping pets in person.

We’re so grateful to have these wonderful technicians guiding our families and giving them support.

Sweet Flower was surrounded by love, familiar comforts, and the people who meant the most to her during her final moments. 💚

We spend a lot of time giving the QCWs a voice, because honestly, those faces say A LOT. 😂

Some of their thoughts probably aren’t appropriate for a public forum, but we’re pretty sure “Whatever, Dad” and “What are you even talking about, Mom?” are among the most common.

The side-eyes. The dramatic sighs. The looks of complete judgment. We know they have opinions.
