She showed up ready. And that smile says it all!

There's something about seeing one of our riders all dressed up for the show ring. The polished boots, the horse looking its best, and that big smile that makes you smile right along with them!

What you don't see in a photo are all the riding lessons, early mornings, and little moments that helped get them there.

And that's what we love about teaching. Watching a rider go from learning the basics to discovering just how far their love for horses can take them. ❤️

Remember what it felt like trying something completely new? The excitement, the butterflies, and wondering if you could really do it?

It's not about getting everything right on the first try. It's about showing up, giving it a go, and discovering just how much you can learn along the way.

What a weekend at the Star Ridge IEA horse show!

This weekend didn’t go quite as planned for me. I experienced a medical emergency that resulted in a TIA (mini-stroke) and ended up in the hospital when I should have been at the barn coaching and run our show.

I honestly don’t even have the words to express how grateful I am to everyone who stepped up to keep things running. Friends, students and all of our amazing parents, the other coaches, and especially my husband, Steve — THANK YOU!

So many people jumped in, took on extra responsibilities, solved problems, and did whatever needed to be done to make sure our riders had a great show. Seeing everyone come together like that means more to me than I can possibly say.

Star Ridge has always been about more than riding horses. It’s about the people, the friendships, the teamwork, and the community we build along the way. This weekend was a pretty powerful reminder of just how special that community is.

I may not have been ringside the way I had planned, but I knew our riders were in good hands because of all of you.

Thank you for showing up, pitching in, and taking care of our Star Ridge family when I needed you most. I am incredibly lucky to have you all in my corner. I could never have done it without you! ❤️

Now, I’m going to focus on resting and recovering, and I’ll be forever grateful for the people who made sure the show went on!

Confidence doesn't happen overnight. Sometimes, it starts with getting in the saddle. 🐴

I've seen riders start out nervous, unsure of themselves, and wondering if they can really do it.

Then, little by little, things start to change.

They learn to communicate with their horse. They figure out how to handle challenges. They make mistakes, try again, and start trusting what they're capable of.

And one day, something that used to feel difficult becomes something they can do on their own.

That's the kind of progress I love seeing at the barn.

Every rider starts somewhere, and sometimes all it takes is that first lesson.
