This sweet girl came in for her final puppy exam and vaccinations, and our team was happy to give her plenty of love and care along the way!

Puppy visits are about more than just getting shots, they’re an important part of giving your new best friend a healthy start in life. During these visits, our team checks their growth and development, discusses nutrition and preventative care, and makes sure they are protected against serious diseases.

💉 Why are puppy vaccines so important?
Puppies have developing immune systems, which means they are especially vulnerable to certain illnesses. Staying on schedule with their vaccinations helps build the protection they need as they grow into happy, healthy adult dogs.

Foods Your Pet Should NEVER Eat 🐾

Our pets may beg for a bite, but some foods can be dangerous—even toxic!

❌ Chocolate
❌ Grapes & raisins
❌ Onions & garlic
❌Avocados
❌ Xylitol (found in some sugar-free products)
❌ Alcohol
❌ Caffeine
❌ Macadamia nuts
❌ Cooked bones

🐶🐱 When in doubt, don’t share it! If your pet eats something they shouldn’t, contact your veterinarian right away. The sooner we know what happened, the sooner we can help. ❤️

This sweet guy recently decided liquid-absorbing cat litter looked like a snack. 😳🐶

For the past three days, our veterinary team has been monitoring him closely with X-rays to make sure he’s doing okay and that we’re making the best decisions for his care.

This is what going above and beyond looks like. ❤️ Our veterinarian and vet techs don’t just treat a patient and send them home — they monitor, reassess, communicate, and do everything they can to give each patient the best possible care.

Even when the patient belongs to one of our own, the level of care never changes. 🐾❤️

Fourth of July is almost here!
We love celebrating Independence Day, but fireworks and busy holiday gatherings can be stressful—and even dangerous—for our furry family members.
Did you know? The week of the Fourth of July is one of the busiest times of the year for lost pets. A little preparation now can make all the difference!
Here are a few simple ways to keep your pets safe:
Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with current identification.
Even if your pet “never goes outside,” be extra cautious. Doors are often left open with guests coming and going.
Fireworks can be frightening. If your pet struggles with loud noises, ask us about calming medication designed to help reduce noise anxiety. Give our clinic a call before the holiday!
Double-check fences, gates, kennels, and crates to ensure they’re secure.
Charge and attach GPS trackers or AirTags if your pet wears one.
No ID tag? In a pinch, write your name and phone number on a piece of paper, seal it inside a small zip-top bag, and securely tape it to your pet’s collar.
The best time to prepare is before the fireworks begin. Let’s work together to make sure every pet stays safe, calm, and home with their family this Fourth of July.

Luna came in last week to have her teeth checked and trimmed! 🐹

Did you know that guinea pigs and other rodents have teeth that continuously grow throughout their lives? Unlike human teeth, their teeth rely on normal chewing and eating to stay worn down. Occasionally, though, our small furry friends need a little extra help to keep their teeth at a healthy length.

Luckily for Luna, her teeth looked great and did not need a trim!

Meet Simon! 🐾

Simon arrived at Care-Pets with his two siblings and, thankfully, didn't have to wait long before stealing Leigh's heart. At approximately 9 weeks old, he's already charmed everyone here with his irresistible cuteness and sweet personality.

We can't wait to watch this little guy grow into a handsome big man. Stay tuned—there will definitely be more adorable photos of Simon coming soon! ❤️
