🎉🎂 Happy Birthday, Ellie! 🎂🎉

Today we’re celebrating one of our amazing volunteers, Ellie! 🥳

Whether she’s helping care for our farm animals, working with our reptiles, or lending a hand wherever it’s needed, Ellie is always ready to jump in and help. Her dedication, hard work, and love for animals make a huge difference to the rescue and the animals we care for every day. ❤️🐐🐑🐍🦎

We are so grateful to have Ellie as part of the Ashburn’s Animals family and hope her day is filled with lots of happiness, laughter, and maybe a few extra animal cuddles! 🎁🎈

Please join us in wishing Ellie a very Happy Birthday! 🎉🎂💕

🌟 Sponsorship Spotlight: Meet LizaJane! 🌟

This week’s spotlight shines on LizaJane, one of our beautiful Alpine goats! 🐐❤️

LizaJane may be a little timid around people, but don’t let her shy nature fool you—she’s incredibly observant, quick on her feet, and always knows what’s going on around the farm! While she prefers to keep a little distance from visitors, she absolutely loves spending time with her herd and can often be found sticking close to her goat friends.

One of the most special things about LizaJane is that she’s the proud mother of Doug and Lucy, who both still call Ashburn’s Animals home. Watching this little family interact is a wonderful reminder of the strong bonds goats can form with one another.

🐐 Fun Fact: Alpine goats are known for their intelligence, athleticism, and adaptability. They are excellent climbers and love having plenty of space to explore!

By sponsoring LizaJane, you’re helping provide her with quality feed, veterinary care, shelter, and all the love and support she needs to thrive.

❤️ A Huge Thank You to the Staff and Students of Donald H. Eichhorn Middle School! ❤️

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff and students at Donald H. Eichhorn Middle School for holding a donation drive to support Ashburn’s Animals. Your generosity and kindness make a real difference in the lives of the animals in our care, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.

Today, we had the pleasure of visiting the school with two of our baby sheep and two of our baby goats! The animals loved meeting everyone, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, curious questions, and excitement from the students. Experiences like these help connect young people with animals and teach the importance of compassion, responsibility, and rescue work.

Thank you for welcoming us, supporting our mission, and helping us provide the best care possible for the animals who call Ashburn’s Animals home. We are so grateful to be part of such a caring community! 🐑🐐❤️

🐍✨ Meet Draco the Ball Python! ✨🐍

Say hello to Draco, our bold and feisty Ball python! 🔥

Draco may be on the smaller side compared to some snakes, but he definitely makes up for it with his big personality. He’s still getting used to everything, and he likes to let you know he’s in charge—at least in his mind! 😄

✨ Fun Facts about Ball Pythons:
• They are native to Africa, especially West and Central regions.
• Ball pythons get their name from their habit of curling into a tight ball when they feel threatened.
• They are generally known for being docile, but each snake has its own personality (Draco keeps things interesting!).
• They can live 20–30 years with proper care.
• Ball pythons are one of the most popular pet snakes due to their manageable size and calm nature.

Draco is a great reminder that every animal is unique—and we’re excited to watch him grow and (hopefully!) mellow out over time. 😉

🐍✨ Meet Sandy the Sand Boa! ✨🐍

Everyone say hello to Sandy, our adorable Sand boa! 💛

Sandy may be small, but she’s full of personality in her own quiet way. Sand boas are known for their unique look and their fun habit of burrowing under the sand, often leaving just their little eyes and nose peeking out!

✨ Fun Facts about Sand Boas:
• They are burrowing snakes and love to stay hidden beneath the sand.
• Sand boas are ambush predators, waiting patiently for their food to come to them.
• They have a short, rounded tail that can look like a second head (to confuse predators!).
• These snakes are typically calm and gentle, making them a favorite for reptile education.
• They come from dry, desert-like environments in parts of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Sandy is a great little ambassador for helping people learn that snakes aren’t scary—they’re just misunderstood! 🐍💛

Be sure to stop by and see if you can spot her… you might have to look closely! 👀
