ANIMAL SHELTER is OUT OF SPACE! please share to help find homes for these beautiful animals.

You may have seen our cute adoption promo posted an hour ago. We’ve deleted it. The situation at BARCS has drastically changed in the past few hours. We are now negative dog space. More than 100 animals have come in over the past 48 hours, with 60 of those arriving since last night. The majority are dogs, which are much harder to move around and house safely. Animal Control is on the way with another truck full.

Our kennels are full. Our intake temp kennels are full. Our offices are full. There is no more place to put our dogs. We are in crisis. And it’s terrible timing for a Friday night. Without getting too in the weeds, social media engagement sucks on Fridays.

We need a full adoption lobby tomorrow morning when we open at 11AM, or we are going to have to make heartbreaking choices for space. Our biggest need is adoption and/or fostering of big dogs. Fees are waived for all animals through 3/1.

It's hard to believe that sweet Reno has been with us for two years this month.

Reno was found as a stray and brought to our Rescue in November 2023. Since then, we've found him to be a fun, energetic and delightful pup. At about 3 years old and a truly undeterminable mix of breeds, Reno stands out as a potential wonderful companion for a loving home.

So why is Reno still here? We think it's because he needs to be the only pet in the home. Most animal lovers enjoy the company of multiple pets. And it's no wonder -- animals are great! But it takes a truly special animal lover to choose to have one pet for their duration of their life. This is what Reno is looking for. We promise he's enough pup for you.

Reno enjoys playing with toys, especially squeaky ones, going on walks, lounging...he's really the perfect boy. Reno is a little hesitant when meeting some new people, but once he gets to know you, he's your bestie. Reno would love a home where he could romp and play. A family would be perfect -- maybe with older children who could match his fun-loving energy.

Please consider adopting Reno, or sharing his email and his story with friends. Reno would love to be home for the holidays!
