This is one update I've been struggling to write and have been avoiding.
After 3 years of pouring our hearts into saving, healing, and advocating for the animals of Guadalupe county, who needed us most, Liefie’s Rescue will be closing its doors. This decision has come with hard feelings, long conversations, and heavy hearts. Our little rescue was built on love, determination, and the belief that every one of God's creations deserves a chance and together, you helped us make that belief a reality.
To every supporter, adopter, foster, volunteer, donor, and fellow rescue who stood beside us: thank you. You’ve shared our posts, opened your homes, sent encouragement during the toughest cases, and celebrated every happy tail with us. None of this would have been possible without your kindness. We have a few cages and materials left over that we'd like to donate to other rescues.
As we take these final steps, we have one last wish
We still have three wonderful dogs who need loving homes. They’ve been part of our journey, and we want nothing more than to see them safe, cherished, and starting their next chapter with families who will adore them. Each one was rescued from cruelty and euthanasia. If you can open your home or help us share their stories one more time it would mean the world to us. There will be a few follow up posts of each dog as next few days come. Anyone who has follow us will know them as Beauty the female Great Pyranees/Marema, Finnegan the black mouth cur, and Champ the boxer/black mouth cur mix.
Even though we are closing, the love we’ve shared here doesn’t end. It lives on in every animal saved, every life changed, and every person who believed in what we were trying to do. I'm moving on to support nonprofits in my IT work through Hambisana IT and we will continue to help animals in the community.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our family.
