🚨UPDATE: 🐎💚 Wild Brumbies in Australia’s Yuraygir National Park remain temporarily protected after Brumby advocate Carmen Jackson launched an urgent legal challenge to save the wild horses from the planned killing.

Following the challenge, the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) gave a formal undertaking to the Court that no aerial shooting, ground shooting, trapping, or killing of the Yuraygir wild horses will take place until the final determination of the case.

The case has been fast-tracked for a final hearing on September 9. Court documents also reveal that the Department’s next cull had been scheduled for September 15. 💔

For now, the Yuraygir Brumbies remain protected — an important temporary victory as advocates continue fighting to save the lives of these iconic wild horses. 🙏🐎

Hello, and welcome to Horse & Hound Bodywork!

My name is Emma,

I’m passionate about helping horses and dogs feel their best through professional bodywork focused on relaxation, mobility, muscle health, and overall well-being. Using techniques based on Equissage sports massage principles, I tailor each session to the individual needs of your horse or dog.

Whether your animal is a competition athlete, a working partner, a cherished companion, or simply in need of some extra care, my goal is to help them feel comfortable, balanced, and at their very best.

Please get in touch to learn more or to book a session. I look forward to meeting you and your four-legged friends!

P.S. be on the lookout for a “first session” package being posted later this week!

Whoever came up with the old saying "healthy as a horse" never owned a horse. Seems like every day we have a new issue with someone in the herd! Chester's eye (the one he had radiation in for lymphoma) is having a flare up. Yesterday I noticed a bump on his forehead (more then his usaual arabian bump). Poor Chester must have wacked his head :( Georgie did 'something' to her left eye - thinking it was itchy and she rubbed it raw - the lower lid was raw - treatment seems to be working. Paris and her feet, well that is an ongoing issue - new boots are needed for her hind feet now - her front boots are helping a bit but she has a very odd gait. Paris also has a cracked tooth that we have an appointment / referral to Northeast Equine Vet, Dr, Limone, in Massachusetts on the 24th. That will be an adventure. Hoping we can pull that tooth that must be pretty painful. Going down the aisle of the barn.... Marley has chronic skin issues that usually flare up in the spring but her tail is showing signs of hair loss - not itchy but just no hair. Beau came to us after being run into by a pickup truck and the scars and trauma to his body will never be reversed. His pasterns, fetlocks and hocks need all have differing degrees of lameness. We are carefully watching his pasterns for progressive dropping - fingers crossed his latest episode of lameness is temporary. Tommy has a lump that most probably is a new melanoma. He has several in different places on his body but this one is pretty big and new. Hope it will stay where it is and not grow. Ulie is doing pretty good, especially now that the flies are on the decrease - good girl Ulie :)

So the next time you hear someone say "healthy as a horse" - call an ambulance!
