To new beginnings! ❤️

MickeyLee is an adorable 5-month-old, all-white Pit mix with the sweetest heart-shaped nose! He was saved from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee by someone who cared enough to give him a second chance, then brought to H.A.L.O. where he could finally breathe easy and begin his new life.

MickeyLee’s siblings have already found their homes, and he even spent some time in a home of his own. Unfortunately, his new dog sibling decided they’d rather be an only child, so MickeyLee is looking for his forever family again.

This boy is ALL puppy! He’s playful, energetic, curious, and always ready to have some fun. He could be your one and only, or have furry or human siblings to grow up with.

He’ll need a family who understands puppy energy and is willing to provide patience, consistency, and training as he learns all the how-to’s of life. In return, MickeyLee will give you a lifetime of love, loyalty, and plenty of puppy adventures. ❤️

🌟 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT 🌟

Tracie Castanon, aka Kitty, has been volunteering with H.A.L.O. since 2017! ❤️

You may remember her from when our Vero Beach Adoption Center was still open. She was there constantly, socializing kittens, helping wherever she was needed, and making a difference for so many animals.

When the Vero Beach Adoption Center closed, Tracie didn’t stop. She became a vital part of helping our Foster First Kitten Program get off the ground and grow into the wonderful success it is today.

If you’ve ever wondered who writes all the bios for our cats, kittens, and small animals, it’s Tracie! Her incredible bios help our animals get noticed and help them find their forever homes. She’s played such an important role in giving these kitties the happy endings they deserve. 🐾

She also still shows up for the cats in Sebastian! She plays with them, interacts with them, and so much more!

It was also Tracie’s amazing idea to make rabbit socializing a volunteer opportunity, giving our rabbits another way to get attention, enrichment, and love!

There is so much more we could mention about everything Tracie has done over the past nine years, but let’s just wrap it up by saying: She’s amazing!

🎉🎉🎉 SMOOTH OPERATOR HAS BEEN SPONSORED! 🎉🎉🎉

An incredible angel has sponsored her adoption fee, which means there’s nothing standing in the way of you meeting your new best friend!❤️

Smooth Operator is a gorgeous 10-year-old tuxedo girl with the sweetest personality. She’s been through a lot, including life as a stray and being front declawed, but she’s never lost her gentle spirit.

She’s a little thin right now and working on gaining some healthy weight, but now that she’s safe and sound, that should be easy enough. She’s currently on a Kidney Protocol, with future bloodwork planned to keep an eye on her values. Because of this, she’s available through our Foster-to-Adopt program while we continue supporting her care.

This poor girl needs a break. What she really needs is a soft bed, sunny windows, plenty of treats, and someone who’ll remind her just how loved she is. ❤️

Wanna Run K9 Club LLC is just such an amazing company! Not only do they provide such a cool way to keep dogs active during these hot days, but they also give our rescues such a fun break from the shelter.

Every Friday, they spend the morning rotating our dogs and giving them some much-needed fun and time outside the shelter. ❤️

Stop by on Friday mornings to see what they do, or even just to meet them! They’re the sweetest and truly amazing people too! We’re just so grateful to them. ❤️

Maggie - Adoption Pending!❤️

A cry for help for Maggie‼️❤️

Sometimes things just don’t work out, and unfortunately, Maggie recently found herself back with us simply because it wasn’t the right fit, and that’s OK.

But we’re not giving up on this gorgeous girl. The problem is, time is definitely not on our side because her heartworm treatment starts soon!

Maggie has tested positive for heartworms and will be starting treatment very soon. H.A.L.O. will cover her treatment through our foster-to-adopt program, so her heartworms shouldn’t stand in the way of giving this girl a home. And if you were wondering, heartworms aren’t contagious, not to animals or humans!

During treatment, Maggie will need very limited activity and will need to avoid anything that gets her too excited. But in a home, she can spend those 2 months relaxing on a comfy bed or couch, enjoying some quiet time and, most importantly, being loved by her people.

Unfortunately, once treatment starts, introducing her to new people won’t be ideal because we don’t want her getting overly excited. That’s why we really need to find her a home BEFORE treatment starts! We don’t want this sweet girl spending her recovery alone in a kennel when she could be healing in a home surrounded by love. ❤️

Maggie is only 2 years old and is basically a BIG PUPPY. She’s an Anatolian Shepherd mix who’s smart, energetic, playful, and loves having things to do. She loves treats, toys (and socks 🤣, so you might want to hide those!), and, of course, getting plenty of attention from her people.

She temperament tested well with other dogs but has made it very clear she’s not a fan of cats. Because she’s a big, enthusiastic girl, a home with kids 8+ would be best.

She’s used to having free run of the house and loves jumping onto the couch or bed to cuddle with her humans.

Maggie just needs someone willing to give her the time and patience to settle in and show you what a wonderful girl she really is.❤️

Marshmallow needs a home‼️❤️

Last week, 3 of our bunnies found their forever homes, but Marshmallow is still waiting. All she needs is one person to give her a chance.

She spent her first birthday with us last month, and she’s already been at H.A.L.O. for over 9 months. 🥺

Marshmallow first came to us with her siblings, who have all found homes now. She was always the curious little adventurer of the bunch, and that hasn’t changed!

She absolutely loves to hop around, investigate new spaces, and show off her playful side. At just over a year old, she’s full of youthful energy while still being incredibly gentle.❤️

If you’re looking for a bunny who’ll make you smile every day with her antics and charm, Marshmallow is your girl! 🐰💕

Shelly - Adoption Pending! ❤️

Shelly has grown into a fun-loving, energetic pup with a BIG personality and some very strong herding instincts! 🤣❤️

This sweet girl is actually one of Baby Love’s puppies, and she’s still very much all puppy! Shelly loves to run, chase, wrestle, play, and keep busy. She recently returned to H.A.L.O. after her adoptive home found that she played too rough with their small dog and would chase and nip at their toddler.

While she wasn’t the right fit for that home, Shelly does wonderfully with larger dogs and older children who can keep up with her. She’s smart, affectionate, playful, and eager to learn.

Because of her high energy and strong herding tendencies, Shelly will thrive with an active family who can provide plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, training, and appropriate outlets for her natural instincts.

If you’re looking for a fun, energetic companion who’ll keep you laughing and on your toes, Shelly might be your girl! ❤️
