Our hearts are with K-9 Ace, his handler, and the entire Polk County Sheriff’s Office after Ace was seriously injured in the line of duty.

While assisting deputies in apprehending a wanted felony suspect, Ace was struck by gunfire, suffering a significant arterial injury to his front leg. He was rushed into emergency surgery and is now receiving advanced veterinary care. We are grateful that the responding deputies were not injured.

This is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices our law enforcement K-9s make every day. They run toward danger without hesitation, protecting their handlers and our communities, often placing themselves directly in harm’s way.

Please join us in keeping K-9 Ace, his handler, and everyone at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in your thoughts and prayers as Ace fights to recover. 💙🐾
