Two weeks ago, I shared Jen and Ren’s story with this community, not knowing what to expect.

What happened next was a beautiful reminder of how much good still exists in the world.

Together, you raised $2,150, allowing us to cover camping gear, dog food and supplies, gas, ren’s future vet expenses and other essentials to help Jen and Ren as they continue working toward stable housing.

Recently, I had the privilege of delivering everything. Seeing Jen’s gratitude—and Ren happily munching on home cooked chicken in his new service vest—was a moment I won’t forget.

To everyone who donated, shared the story, sent kind messages, or simply took the time to care: thank you. Your generosity reminded Jen and Ren that they aren’t alone.

While this chapter comes to a close, their story will stay with us.

Please join me in wishing Jen and Ren the very best as they move forwardšŸ’™

Special thanks for John S - couldn’t have done it without you šŸ™Œ

You showed up in the most incredible way.

Because of this community, Ren and Jen now have many of the essentials they’ll need as they take their next steps together—from supplies for Ren to warmth, transportation, food, care and other everyday necessities.

As we put the finishing touches on everything, we want to thank you for your generosity, compassion and for reminding us what community can look like when we come together🐾

UpdatešŸ¤Ž I recently reconnected with Ren and Jen to share the incredible outpouring of love and support from this community. Jen was deeply touched to learn that so many people came together to help her and Ren. Thank you for making them feel seen and supportedšŸ¤Ž.

We chatted further about their situation - she is working with a case worker towards securing affordable housing. In the interim, we talked through how the funds raised so far could make the biggest difference. We identified the immediate priorities that will help achieve stability. These included essentials such as a tent, a sleeping bag, dog supplies, dog food, gas money, and—most importantly—a phone to help stay connected to resources and opportunity, including medical care and affordable temporary housing opportunities for both her and Ren.

While we haven’t reached 100% of our fundraising goal, thanks to your incredible generosity, the funds raised so far—nearly $1,500!—will allow us to meet these immediate needs and make a meaningful difference for Jen and Ren.

With that in mind, we’ll be wrapping up the fundraising phase and shifting our focus to putting your generosity into action.

This week, we’ll be purchasing the items and support to help Jen and Ren. We’ll continue to share updates.

In the meantime, we dropped off a few more urgent items to help including a tent, gc and water dish for Ren while we prepare the items that will be purchased through the fundraiser.

Thank you for showing what’s possible when a community comes together to care for one another. We are beyond grateful for your kindness šŸ¤ŽšŸ«¶

Update on Jen and Ren: we were overwhelmed by the outpour of support after we shared this story.

Thousands of you watched, shared, and reached out asking how you could help. For those who missed it, Ren lost his owner six months ago to an overdose, and was given a second chance by Jen, despite living out of a car and facing extraordinarily hard circumstances herself.

Because so many of you wanted to help, we’ve created a GoFundMe to help them get off the streets and find a homešŸ¤Ž.

If this story resonates, please consider sharing it or donating at the link in the comments and here: https://www.gofundme.com/manage/help-ren-jen-get-off-the-streets-and-find-a-safe-home/fundraiser

Sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t adventures or training sessions. They are simply showing up for someone who needs it šŸ¤Ž

Update: Donations to Ren and Jen (and others) can now be made at the link in the profile.
