The Siberian. Russia's national cat and one of the oldest natural breeds in the world. Often described as hypoallergenic but the truth is more nuanced. No cat is truly hypoallergenic. Siberians do produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein that causes most cat allergies, but research shows results vary significantly between individual cats. Some allergy sufferers tolerate them well, others do not. If allergies are a concern, spending time with the specific cat before committing is always the right move. 🐾
