I have spent over 20 years house/pet sitting in and around Seattle. I am looking to do this more part time for the rest of my life!!!! I love the joy have having dogs jump up and down when I get there (in fact during the pandemic, with less doggy wags, I have requested that my sweetheart jumps up and down when we first see each other)

And who doesn't love having a cat roll over and give you their

belly, what acceptance. I have learned a lot in my 20+ years, about the visceral connection with animals, about all the back roads all over Seattle, about the gift of trust that people give me allowing me to stay in there home while they are away. Okay, here is my latest thinking about “Urban Traveller”

I have decided to add something to my house sitting/pet sitting. One of thethings I love is the exercise in navigating someone else’s home. Where they putthings, what they look at, what they listen to or read.

Well too often we just live in our homes/rooms by habit. Wecannot and/or do not notice our own spaces after a while. SO my plan is thatwhen I house sit someone home, I will change one thing in 4 rooms of the home,probably the bedroom, the kitchen, the bathroom and the living room, but notnecessarily. It would be minor, basedeither on my logical way of seeing things or some small change that I findfunny. It becomes an exercise of them inbeing present in their own space. Sort of a Where’s Waldo or “What would Karen do?” or Findthe Six Changes In This Picture, when they get home.

Since I already state that I believe my job is surprise thedog………….now I can extend it to surprise the owner!

What fun…………please pass this on to your friends………..especiallyif you think they want to have a bit more fun in their lives!

Rates:

$40/day for a dog. ($250/week)

$45/day for dog and cat. ($285/week)

$50/day if dog or cat need regular medication more than oncea day (where I need to schedule my day around their medications) ($320/week)
