The current SLU Dog Park is a pocket dog park on the John Street side of Denny Park Between Dexter Ave. With your support at the public meetings that will be held in 2013-2014, we can stake a claim to a portion of the former City Light property for a bigger, better, SLU Dog Park.

Went to the Substation Design Review meeting yesterday. Looks like SLU Dog Park will be twice as large as Denny. Fingers crossed!

Hello SLU Dog Park supporters,

Wanted to let you know about an opportunity to comment on the Denny Substation design--specifically, the "public benefits". While it does include an off-leash area, the size allocated to it currently is 6,000 square feet. I don't know about you, but for me, this seems way too small to accommodate the 1000+ dogs that are looking forward to playing there. I hope to see some dog-friendly people in attendance who will speak for our dogs!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Seattle Deputy Mayor Kate Joncas. I told her about my quest for a well designed off-leash area at the Denny Substation. Happy to know that she's the mom of two rescued black labs!
