Happy National White Cat Day to every stunning, snow-coated kitty out there! 🤍

Today, we're celebrating all the wonderful white cats — including our gorgeous patient Tongyuan, who wowed us with his striking two different colored eyes! His owner adopted him from the Seattle Animal Shelter, and we’re so grateful to have him as part of the Elliott Bay Animal Hospital family! 🐱

Meet Riker and Arwen, a sibling duo in for their wellness visits! Riker, the black and tan shepherd, is 7.5 years old and came in for vaccines. And sister Arwen, who has more red in her coat, was in for some lab work.

Together, the two are stunning, and we’re so grateful to be part of the pair’s health journey!

Wayne the Bernese Mountain Dog was a bit nervous during his visit. But a little treat smeared onto a lick pad helped distract him from his blood draw. 🐶🦴

He came in for an ear infection and pain in his left paw, and our team took blood as part of his diagnosis and treatment. With some coaxing, Wayne was able to enjoy something yummy while also getting the healthcare he needed! 🐾

We love helping your pets be as comfortable as possible during their visit. If that means extra belly rubs, treats, or a licky mat, we are all here for it! ♥️

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Dr. Stanley B. Coe, DVM, on August 9, 2026. 🕊️

Dr. Stan Coe was an integral part of Seattle veterinary medicine and leaves behind a lasting impression on not only our practice, but our entire community. His career, spanning nearly five decades, all started when he took a job as a kennel tech in high school. For 45 years, Dr. Coe led Elliott Bay Animal Hospital with steady hands, deep compassion, and an unwavering love for animals. 🐾

Beyond his immeasurable impact on our practice, some of Dr. Coe’s most important work was done for no monetary gain. His selfless and empathetic volunteer work has supported pets and pet owners throughout our community. What began as a small effort to help animals in need alongside a fellow veterinarian, Dr. Bud Doney, grew into the nation’s first no-cost veterinary clinic.

Dr. Doney was helping pets receive care from the back of a church when Dr. Coe began supporting his mission. The two used their own equipment and resources to ensure pets had access to the care they needed. Eventually, Dr. Coe built Dr. Doney’s efforts into the Doney Coe Pet Clinic. Today, the clinic continues to provide free care for animals in need, serving as an enduring space for community care to thrive and keeping both Dr. Doney’s and Dr. Coe’s generous spirit alive.

Dr. Coe touched countless lives — the animals he cared for, the worried owners he comforted, and the veterinary community he helped shape. His kindness and dedication leave a legacy that will be felt for generations.

To his family, friends, colleagues, and every pet and person he cared for over the years: our thoughts are with you.

Thank you, Dr. Coe, for a lifetime of care and for the massive role you played in cultivating and shaping the compassionate and expert care our team strives for each day. You will be dearly missed. 💛

Okay, so the dog ate our calendar. 🐕😬

Spoil Your Dog Day was August 10, but we figure our pups won’t object to celebrating a couple of days late. (More spoiling? Yes, please.) 🐾

And the best way to spoil your dog isn’t by giving them everything they want — it’s by giving them the things that help them thrive! 💙

Exercise, healthy treats, quality time, and fun enrichment are some of the best ways to show the dogs in our lives how much they mean to us.

Swipe through for our vet-approved ideas for spoiling your pup — on Spoil Your Dog Day or any day of the year! 🐕

How does your dog like to be spoiled? Let us know in the comments!

Baby’s first Churu! 🥹

This precious kitten is named Samuel. He came in for his first visit with us and absolutely loved trying Churu for the first time! He came with his kitten sister, but she was a little more camera-shy.

We loved seeing both of them for this very special milestone in their young lives — first wellness visit and first Churu tasting! ❤️And we’re so grateful to be trusted with their care!
