I started this weekend sad, missing Felix. I truly wish he was learning this game with me. He would have loved it (and showed everyone 100 new ways to get every exercise wrong, with full confidence).

I’ve been in grief for a year over him, and also deeply homesick for agility with my training wife Megan, but I ended the weekend overjoyed with Carson and our teamwork. I’m so excited to see where this new path takes us.

FCI Obedience (a sport I’ve coveted from afar for well over a decade) with Carson feels like the next right thing.

Thanks, Karishma, for your support and taking care of “the littles” so Carson and I could go sportsing 😘

Losing Idgie and Felix in a year was a cruelty. Impulsively (intuitively?) acquiring Carson before that happened was a gift. She is my heart like Felix and is fast becoming my right arm like idgie. If you’re only going to have one border collie they better be a great one. 🩷

What are your questions?
What is hard about recall training?
What do you feel skeptical about?

T***s McGoots appreciation post: no better sidekick, no closer friend, no funnier jokester, no sweeter soul, and no smarter whip ever lived. You heard it here. Covering more miles in one summer than most do in a lifetime and I couldn’t be more grateful to have her by my side. 🩷
