Meet Templeton!

The sole survivor of a litter of tiny piglets, Templeton was rescued from California by a friend of Emerald City Pet Rescue & bottle raised at GOF.

A local Vashon favorite, this gentle giant (who now weighs in at over 650 lbs) has walked in parades, visited car shows, and even dipped his hooves in politics by running for the unofficial town mayor!

Close to 4 years old now, these days he prefers a quieter lifestyle away from the limelight. Instead, you'll find him rooting around in the soil, or digging the perfect dirt bed - which, on warmer days is filled with water for him to luxuriate in. šŸ’¦

When he's not preoccupied with these important tasks, he's anxiously awaiting his next salad or treat delivery - & while he's an equal opportunity snacker, we think šŸ‰ just might be his favorite.

He also LOVES a good belly rub, & willingly lifts his hind legs so you can reach THE spot.

We are so fortunate to have this smart & clever boy at the sanctuary! 🐽

Happy tails to Pixie! (Now known as Peaches) This sweet girl has officially settled into her forever home and it sounds like she’s thriving. From picking up her new name right away to zooming around the house with her new sister Heidi, Peaches is already living her best life. She’s also become a pro on walks and is loving every minute with her new family (and her buddy Finn, too!) Hearing that she’s happy, loved, and settling in so beautifully is exactly why we do this work.

Update: He has found his furrever family! Meet Bolt šŸ¤Ž This 2.5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog isn’t quite ready to head home yet, but he is officially ready to start looking for his forever family. And trust us… someone is going to hit the jackpot with this boy.

Bolt is sweet, gentle, and the definition of easygoing. His dream day includes lounging on the couch, playing in the yard, cuddling with his dog friends, and sneaking in snuggles with the cats. He’s lived with both dogs and cats, is potty trained, loves attention, and has that perfect mix of playful energy and laid-back charm.

His one quirky habit? Bolt thinks rocks might be snacks so he’ll need a family committed to helping keep him safe and setting him up for success. If you’ve been looking for a loving companion with a giant heart and an even bigger cuddle capacity, Bolt may be your perfect match!

Looking for the ultimate unlikely best friend duo? Meet Jake & Luna Bee!

Jake is a 14-year-old Silky Terrier with plenty of pep left in his step. He loves walks, cuddles, and being involved in absolutely everything his people are doing. He’s affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s close to the people he loves.

Luna Bee is his 7-month-old feline best friend — a playful, curious, high-energy kitty who loves climbing, exploring, and keeping watch from the highest perch in the room. She’s full of personality and confidence, with just the right amount of spice.

These two came from the same home and share a truly special bond, so they’re looking for a forever home together. If you’ve ever dreamed of adopting a ready-made dog-and-cat duo, Jake and Luna Bee might just be your perfect match. 🐾

Meet Snow White!

Our first mini rescue, & the eldest of our mini girls, this reserved lady is living her best life here on the farm. When Emerald City Pet Rescue first received her as a relinquishment back in 2013, she had a one night sleepover in our founders garage prior to being transferred to our sanctuary on Vashon.
Snow White (better known as Snow), spends her time as the group matriarch of our herd of mini girls - keeping us informed if something isn’t quite right (at least by her standards).
Snow loves to be groomed, and enjoys being served her special lunch snack outside of her enclosure - making the rest of the mini girls jealous!
This sweet girl is always happy to give company to staff in need of a hangout - & we often take her up in it.

If you'd like to make a donation to the Washington Gives GiveBIG fundraiser in Snow's honor, please click here : https://www.wagives.org/organization/Emeraldcitypetrescue

Adoptiversary Update! It’s hard to believe this sweet boy has already been with his forever family for a full year. From settling into his new routine to completely winning over everyone around him, Lonzo is clearly living the life he always deserved.

His family shared that he’s bonded especially closely with grandma, rotates between sleeping with his people every night, and has officially claimed the household bean bag as his own personal ā€œgiant dog bedā€. One of the most special updates of all? The animal hospital in Spokane that originally helped nurse Lonzo back to health is planning to come visit him soon. Stories like Lonzo’s are why we do this work. Happy one year home, sweet boy! We couldn’t love this update more!

Introducing Room for One More. ā¤ļø

At Whiskers Lodge, we’ll periodically reserve one of our suites for an adoptable cat who could use a soft place to land while waiting for their future family.

A calm room. Extra attention. More visibility. More love.

We’re honored to launch the initiative alongside Emerald City Pet Rescue, and we can’t wait to introduce our first guest soon. 🄰
