Growing older doesn't have to mean feeling worse.

If your senior pet is sleeping more than usual, slowing down on walks, struggling with stairs, or showing changes in appetite or behavior, it may be time for a wellness visit. These subtle changes can be easy to overlook, but they can also be the first signs of an underlying health condition.

A checkup can help your veterinarian identify concerns early and keep your pet comfortable and thriving in their golden years.

Please help us welcome Dr. Albert Kim to the Sunset Hill Team! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

Dr. Kim graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Konkuk University, South Korea in 2010. He began his career as a district veterinary officer for the Seoul Metropolitan Government, where he was responsible for animal welfare policies. He then moved to the United States, where he worked as a research associate at the University of California, Berkeley, and received clinical training at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. After obtaining his license to practice veterinary medicine in the United States, he began practicing small animal medicine in the Seattle area in 2015 and has continued to do so ever since.

Dr. Kim is passionate about sustainable, long-term health management and finds joy in helping pets live happy, long lives alongside their families. He has a particular soft spot for pets who enjoy their treats a little too much and admits he has a hard time saying no to those pleading eyes himself.

Outside of work, Dr. Kim enjoys digital drawing, watching movies and playing computer games.

Kricket's Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are dental therapy dogs. When her oldest stopped responding to sounds, her local vet could not find a reason.

She drove several hours to find a team with experience treating the breed. We found yeast buildup in his ears. Ear drops cleared it, and he could hear again. Her younger dog Meg had a recurring issue the family had never gotten clear guidance on.

They left with answers and a plan they could follow at home.

"Beyond anything that any local vet has helped us with." โ€” Kricket
If your pet has something that has gone unresolved, we would rather hear about it three times than miss it once.

Nola is 11 years old and just got back from a long walk on the beach.

Two years ago, her family noticed something off in the way she moved. A diagnosis confirmed a genetic condition affecting both of her back legs. Our team guided them through two separate corrective surgeries, one for each leg, and supported the family through each recovery.
Today she fetches at the school yard down the street. Her family says she is as happy and playful as she was at two.

"If you want a veterinary team that pairs outstanding skill with real compassion, this is the place." โ€” Nola's family

If your senior pet is moving differently or tiring faster than usual, it is worth a conversation. Age changes what we recommend. It does not close the door.
