🐾 Today is World Rabies Day! 🐾

This year’s theme is “Stronger Together,” highlighting a simple truth: eliminating rabies is only possible when communities, veterinary professionals, public health organizations, and pet owners work together.

While rabies may seem like a distant threat, it is still present right here in Washington State. Keeping our pets’ rabies vaccinations up to date is one of the simplest and most important ways we can help protect our pets, our families, and our communities.

Today is a great reminder to:
🐶 Make sure your pet’s rabies vaccine is current
🐱 Talk with your veterinarian if you’re unsure when your pet is due
🦇 Avoid contact with wild animals, especially bats
📚 Learn more about rabies and how we can all help prevent its spread

Together, we can make a difference. 💙

🍂 Happy First Day of Fall! 🍂

The leaves are changing, the mornings are getting cooler, and our pets are wondering why we suddenly expect them to come inside when they were perfectly happy outside. 😂🐾

As we head into fall, here are a few quick reminders to keep your pets happy and healthy:

🍁 Keep up with parasite prevention. Fleas, ticks, and some intestinal parasites don’t disappear just because summer is over!

🍁 Watch for seasonal hazards. Mushrooms, fallen fruit, rodenticides, and certain plants can all pose risks to curious pets.

🍁 Check those medications and preventives. If your pet is running low, now is a good time to make sure you have what you need before the weather changes.

🍁 Enjoy the cooler weather! Fall is a great time for walks, sniffing adventures, and plenty of cozy naps.

From all of us at Lien Animal Clinic, we hope you and your pets have a wonderful first day of fall! 🐶🐱🍂
