Its been awhile since we posted, sorry about that! Life with a toddler has kept us busy! [recipes below]
Life updates: Scotty turned 6 years old and Benny is now a little over 1!
They boys are doing great. Benny has been keeping our senior pig feeling young ♥️
For the holidays, set up their vacation home AKA the downstairs cage with a little bit of Christmas cheer. Some nice lettuce Christmas tree and a few treats!
As promised, here are a few of my bestselling treat recipes. Enjoy!
To make the treats watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNZg4iTIHes
The process will be the same, just replace the ingredients with the ingredients below:
Digestive brownies: Timothy Hay, Carrots, Banana, Burdock Root, Oats, Marigold,
Senior Cake: Timothy Hay, Nettle Leaf, Banana, Rosehip, Burdock Root and Thyme.
Recovery Cake: Timothy hay, Banana, Oats, Oat Tops, Carrots, Bellpepper, Probiotics, Chamomile, and Lemon Balm.
I highly recommend using a food processor to chop the hay even more and combine ingredients properly.
To dehydrate, set temperature to 150F and dry for atleast 24 hours. You’ll know that its fully dry when the treat makes a hollow sound when you scratch the bottom of the treat. It will also weigh very light.
Tip: Use a dehydrator that has the fan on the side, not the bottom to optimal even drying.
