Identical chubby little kitties.

Let’s take a look at how this little furry friend gradually comes to life.
First, set the eyes—they provide an anchor for the creature’s expression.
A neat, solid base is the foundation for every detail that follows.
Groom the fur on the forehead and trim away any stray, unwanted strands to soften the contours of the face.
Begin adding its unique markings, staying true to the original reference.
Once the markings are in place, the little one’s distinct identity truly emerges.
Layer the fur on the cheeks to create a soft, natural, and voluminous look.
Fill in the fur on the chin to make the face appear more rounded and balanced.
Shape the neck to connect the head to the body.
Finally, add the whiskers recreating his appearance, frame by frame, in every detail.
Hundreds, even thousands, of precise needle-stabs all to capture his one-of-a-kind look.

Hello, my name is Mao Lizi (Chestnut).
I’m an adorable little Teddy dog.
Today, a mini version of me was born!
My human took lots and lots of photos of me,
then picked her favorite one—where I’m smiling—
and recreated it using needle felting.
Look at my paws,
and my little paw pads!
Do you think it’s cute?
Mommy, I love you forever!

Kitty:
Are these my eyes?!
How are these hyper-realistic wool kittens created?
First, we craft pupils that are 1:1 replicas of the kitten’s actual eye color,
and set them into a small, circular base.
Next, we take a bundle of wool and needle-felt it into a foundational shape.
We then attach a pair of soft, fuzzy ears to this base.
What follows is a long, meticulous process of "implanting" the fur
after hundreds, even thousands, of individual needle-felting strokes,
we end up with a fluffy kitten head.
From there, we carefully trim the fur
and add fine details.
And just like that, an incredibly adorable wool kitten is complete!
