Lia was running out of time. Had rescuers not found her when they did, she likely would have been lost forever. Trapped in a sewage pipe with a painful prolapse and growing weaker by the day, Lia was fighting a battle she could not win alone. Unable to find enough food and lacking the strength to care for herself, she was slowly wasting away. The thought of what might have happened if help had arrived any later is heartbreaking.

Thankfully, Lia was rescued before it was too late. Today, she is receiving daily medication, nutritious meals, supplements, and the care she desperately needs while she slowly rebuilds her strength. For the first time in a very long time, Lia is warm, safe, fed, and no longer alone.

But her fight is far from over. Lia was too weak to undergo the surgery needed to correct her prolapse. Her condition was that severe when she was found. Before veterinarians can address the injury causing her so much pain, they had to help her gain weight, restore her health, and build enough strength for surgery.

Today, Lia is doing better! She’s eating well and showing encouraging signs of improvement. One of the biggest changes is that her gums are starting to turn pink again, which indicates that the medications treating her blood parasite are working. Lia still has a journey ahead of her, but they're feeling hopeful. The veterinary team will be visiting her this Thursday to reassess her condition and determine whether she is ready for the surgery needed to repair her prolapse.

Lia has fought to stay alive for far too long on her own. Now, she finally has people fighting alongside her. Nobody knows exactly what happened to Leron, but what is known is heartbreaking. He was found tied up in an empty lot, suffering from a devastating leg injury. Unable to escape or seek help, he was left to endure unimaginable pain as his wound worsened and infection threatened to take hold. Every day he survived was nothing short of remarkable. With injuries this severe, many dogs never get a second chance.

The person who found Leron rushed him to a veterinary clinic in Tijuana, but like so many animals with extensive medical needs, the conversation quickly turned to euthanasia. The cost of saving him was overwhelming, and dogs like Leron are too often considered beyond help. Thankfully, the veterinary team saw a life worth fighting for.

They reached out to Amazing Strays Rescue for help covering the cost of the surgery and medical care. They had a foster home ready for his recovery; they just needed the resources to give him a chance. There was no way the rescue could say no. Diva is the only one who somehow survived, while her siblings plummeted to their deaths...

After a neighbor discovered Diva and her siblings lying on the ground, they contacted rescuers, who immediately rushed to help. From the moment they arrived, it was clear the situation was devastating. The chances of four young kittens falling from such a height on their own are extremely unlikely, leading the rescue team to believe they were most likely deliberately thrown from one of the floors above.

Although Diva survived the unimaginable, her life was still hanging in the balance. She was rushed to the emergency veterinary hospital, where her body temperature had dropped to a dangerously low level. Her condition was critical, and X-rays revealed a shattered left leg with a severe fracture to her humerus.

The veterinary team worked quickly to stabilize Diva, carefully warming her body and closely monitoring her vital signs until she was no longer in immediate danger. She continues to receive around-the-clock supportive care as she regains her strength. Once she is healthy enough, surgeons will move forward with the orthopedic procedure needed to repair her fractured leg and give her the best possible chance at a full recovery.

Instead of showing compassion to a defenseless baby animal, they reportedly hurt him for entertainment.

When a local resident found Sherry, her condition was far worse than anyone could have imagined. The entire left side of her body was coated in thick, sticky tar that had hardened into her fur and against her skin like a heavy blanket she couldn't escape. Terrified and confused, she struggled to understand what was happening to her. But the tar wasn't even the worst of it. One of her legs was bent at a horrifying angle, revealing a devastating injury that demanded immediate medical attention.

No one knows exactly how Sherry ended up covered in tar. She may have fallen into it accidentally, or something far more sinister may have happened. Sadly, the possibility of cruelty cannot be ruled out. What is certain is that Sherry was suffering, frightened, and desperately in need of help.

She was rushed into veterinary care, where diagnostics revealed a complete open fracture of her left tibia. The injury was so severe that the broken bone was exposed, leaving her at high risk for infection. Bloodwork also showed that she was already battling a serious infection and that her hematocrit levels were dangerously low, leaving her weak and depleted.

Right now, the focus is on keeping Sherry stable enough to undergo the surgery she desperately needs. Removing the tar has been an incredibly delicate process, as pulling it away too quickly could cause significant damage to the skin underneath. Her medical team has been carefully dissolving and removing the tar with coconut oil, one section at a time, while providing around-the-clock care. She remains hospitalized on antibiotics, fluids, and pain medication. Sherry is also undergoing wound management and constant monitoring as veterinarians work to control the infection and strengthen her body.

Once she is stable enough, Sherry will undergo amputation of the injured limb. While it's a heartbreaking reality, the injury is simply too severe. The exposed fracture, ongoing infection, and extensive trauma leave no safe alternative. Surgery offers her the best chance at a future free from constant pain.

The costs of hospitalization, bloodwork, medications, wound care, surgery, and recovery continue to add up, but Sherry's fight is far from over.
