Seal Beach Animal Care Center - SBACC

Seal Beach Animal Care Center - SBACC Animal rescue, pet adoptions, animal shelter. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit animal shelter.
(554)

Established in 1986, the Seal Beach Animal Care Center is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter committed to finding permanent, loving homes for all the animals that come into our care. Our staff of dedicated volunteers ensures the animals are kept as comfortable as possible until they can be placed into new adoptive homes. As a no-kill animal shelter, getting through each day is an accomplishment.

While the SBACC primarily serves the City of Seal Beach, we attract adopters from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties, in addition to networking with other shelters, rescue groups, and animal sanctuaries across the country. We believe that through adoption counseling and education, we are helping to create a community that cares for animals with responsibility and compassion.

Kittens D***y and Dory head home! D***y and Dory are two of three kittens rescued from a backyard at five weeks old. They went home with this lovely retired couple as their only pets, but they have adopted both cats and dogs from us before. D***y and Dory are now Linus and Lucy, and we wish them all many happy years together! 😻

Ollie is a very mellow guy, who loves to sunbathe and hang out with his people. He enjoys leisurely walks, on his own terms of course😉 Ollie would really love a quiet home where he can be your best companion! 💚💚

Phoenix is sporting a fresh summer cut and he’s telling us how good he’s feeling! He’s a friendly, mellow, 3 ½ year old boy who gets along fine with the other cats in his room, though he tends to spend most of his time by himself. He can also be a bit of a peacekeeper, getting in close to check out the situation when cats are fussing. They’ll often just calm and disperse. He wasn’t in very good shape when rescued from the street around five months old and it took a while to figure out his issues and get him on the right medication. He’s hoping to find a forever home with a family who’ll be okay with the daily meds needed for him to stay healthy.

Kitten Corey, Coco, and Charlie were rescued from an overcrowded kill shelter at six weeks old. The three of them were adopted together by a lovely couple who had recently lost the cat they adopted from us many years ago. They will certainly keep their new parents on their toes, and we wish them all long, wonderful lives! 😻

Loretta was adopted as a kitten and had a home for almost four years, then her mom had to go into assisted living where pets weren’t allowed. Everyone was sad, but she did her best to adjust to life at SBACC in hopes of finding another forever home. She does prefer people to other cats - it had been just “mom and me”. She’s a friendly girl, and in her former life, was a lap cat. She was actually adopted again, but through no fault of her own, was returned, as a family member turned out to be severely allergic. She really needs to find the right home, where she can be the only cat. And hopefully, before the private room she’s in is needed for all the kittens as they come in from foster care!

Kittens Usher and Utah head home! These adorable look-alike brothers were rescued from the streets when they were just two weeks old. They were adopted the day they became available, so they didn't even make it to the website or social media! They went home to live with the sister of Quindarius's adopter, her husband, three kids, another cat, and a cat-friendly dog! They were taken to their new home by Quindarius's adopter, since Mom couldn't get off work early enough. Usher and Utah will surely have active, fun-filled lives! 😻

We’re sisters Lulu and Lizzy. We, along with three siblings, were born in the home of the nice person who rescued our mama from the street. She couldn’t keep us, so brought us all to SBACC, so we grew up in a nice, warm and safe foster home with our mama, never having spent a day on the street. There were cats and a big dog at our foster home, and we got along with them all. It would be great if we could go home together or with another of our siblings (they haven’t arrived at the center yet).

Kittens Benito and Katie go home together! Benito is one of three brothers rescued from an overcrowded shelter at six weeks old. Katie and her brother Kole were rescued from an industrial area when they were 10 days old. They were the choice of this lovely family, who had recently lost their elderly cat, which they had adopted from us in 2011. Benito and Katie will certainly bring plenty of kitten energy to the family, and we wish them all many years of happiness! 😻
