Retirement news from our friends at Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
After 6 years of dedicated service, K9 Ranger is hanging up his VIK9s vest for retirement!! This incredible K9 has had an incredible career keeping his community safe and we're honored to have helped keep him save while doing it.
Officials said Ranger completed about 85 deployments and played a key role in helping law enforcement remove illegal drugs from communities in Saline County (AR) and beyond during his career. Officials said the K9 assisted in numerous investigations that led to significant drug seizures and the arrest of suspected offenders.
Ranger served alongside his handler, Lt. Bree Sharver, throughout his career. As he enters retirement, officials said the veteran K9 will spend his days on the farm with Sharver after completing a career marked by what officials called numerous law enforcement successes.
Congrats on your retirement, K9 Ranger! May your days be filled with balls, belly rubs and lots of love. I am not just equipment . Sad news from our friends at New York State Police
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of retired K9 Dunn.
K9 Dunn faithfully served alongside Trooper Edward E. Reiser of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit from September 2018 until his retirement in March 2025.
During his career, Dunn assisted in hundreds of investigations involving illegal fi****ms and significant quantities of narcotics, fugitive apprehensions, and the recovery of more than $10 million in U.S. currency associated with narcotics investigations.
K9 Dunn was proudly named in honor of Trooper Vincent A. Dunn and was a dedicated partner and valued member of Troop K and the New York State Police.
We thank K9 Dunn for his years of loyal service and his lasting contributions to the State Police. He will not be forgotten. I am not just equipment .
