I am sorry to report that Olive died on New Year’s Eve. She had a stroke that morning, and we were fortunate to get a compassionate veterinarian, Andrea Leach, to come to our house a few hours later to put Olive to sleep.
Olive was about 16-years-old. She and the rest of her litter had been found as newborns in the bed of a pickup truck. We adopted her and another cat, Suki, at a cat show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in 2010. Suki died 6 years ago, and Olive had been a solitary cat ever since. I think she had a good life with us, and we will miss her.
