‼️Animal Hospital Closure Notice‼️

Scottsville Animal Hospital staff members will be attending this year's KVMA Mid-America Veterinary Conference on Friday, September 25th through the Sunday, September 27th. This conference provides our staff vital continued education so that we may better serve our patients and our clients! 🐾

Our animal hospital will be closed on Friday, Sep. 25th and Saturday, Sep. 26th. We will be back on normal business hours on Monday, Sep. 28th.

Should your pet need emergency services during our closure, the Bowling Green Veterinary Emergency Clinic will be available from Friday 6:00pm through Monday 7:00am with no appointment necessary for emergencies. They can be reached at (270)-715-5600.

Help us congratulate ✨Rowan✨ who is our winner for our Purina OM Overweight Management challenge! Thank you to all our patients who participated!

This 13 week long challenge meant participants had to switch their kibble to the Purina OM diet. We recorded starting weights and ending weights for each participant and Rowan lost 10% of his body weight and he's looking great! 😍 For winning the challenge, he earned a year's supply worth of Purina OM so he can keep up the good work! We strongly encourage healthy weights for our patients so that they can live long, healthy, and happy lives! 🐾

Purina OM Overweight Management diet is intended to help patients lose weight without losing muscle mass. It's high in protein but low in fat and calories and also has natural fiber. As an added bonus, it's also beneficial for urinary health to help prevent the formation of bladder stones! Way to go, Rowan!🎉

A common question pet parents have is “how can I tell if my pet is in pain if they cannot tell me?”

Pets can be very stoic in how they communicate pain responses. So much so, they may not show any signs at all. The most common responses to look for are depression, aggression, limping, resistance to petting or grooming, not eating, panting excessively, hiding, and other behaviors that seem out of the norm for them.

If you have concerns that your pet could be in pain, let's get them set up with an appointment to come see us. We want all of our pet companions to be happy and pain free! 🐾
