Mannie, the Goldendoodle from Mesa, sure made his parents proud today! In preparation for their first grandchild, they needed to be sure Mannie would be calm when guests and family members entered the home, as he used to jump up on new friends. We also worked together to introduce Mannie to his new “place”, the area he will be asked to stay while the baby is near. He was an A+ student, grasping both of these new concepts like a champion!

I had the pleasure of spending the day working with this handsome fellow, Kovic. What a smart, sweet, loving guy he is. He was rescued and was extremely shy, so we worked on building confidence and trust, as well as basic Leash skills. Kovic lives in Riverside, California and is waiting for his forever home with someone who will have lots of patience and love to give him. Rules, Limitations, and Boundaries
Must haves in the life of a dog. A lack of this structure leads to unwanted behavior. If our society had no rules we would have chaos... why would your home be any different? Establishing parameters with your dog is just part of clear communication and expectations. Rules refer to what your dog is and is not allowed to do, such as not begging for food. Boundaries refer to where your dog can or cannot go and/or when it is acceptable, such as not exiting the front door until you have a leash on. Limitations control the length or intensity of an activity, such as putting a time limit on fetch so your dog does not overdo it (if they live to fetch like our golden Ben does). Rules, boundaries and limitations help keep the expectations clear and add structure and consistency in your dog's life as well as peace in your home! ❤️
