This wasn’t even the worst injury yesterday! My scraped leg ( I took one for the team, my horse.)When riding, I chose to scrape my leg on a very stationary and kinda sharp city road sign. RATHER than let my horse step into a baby cactus of some sort, I chose to go left and saw it there. It looks far less impressive all cleaned up: it was dripping blood. 😬
The worst injury was my boarder who was thrown off her horse in the morning. I HATE unplanned dismounts at 18Karrot Ranch, but hey, it happens. Boarder is sore but okay. Perfect example of why I STRONGLY encourage grown adults to wear helmets when riding, and of course, it’s a requirement for children. The other policy here is that I STRONGLY discourage riding alone, when nobody is with you and nobody is home here. In this example, I had to hand my saddled horse to a boarder who was holding her own saddled horse already. It was just the three of us and I asked about how badly she thought she was hurt. Meanwhile, I had to hold onto her horse while she gained her composure. What if she had been riding alone and I was at Target ?😂 What would have transpired? Stay safe people and make good choices! 🙌🤞🏻😊🐴 And yes, I’m still riding in shorts! 🤩
