I am so excited to announce that I have been accepted and enrolled in the Dynamic Dog program to further my knowledge and experience in Canine Functional Assessments for behavior, posture, and movement.

This program will eloquently enhance my current education and experience as a Certified Canine Fitness Trainer (CCFT) and professional dog trainer that specializes in behaviorally complex dogs.

This is an intense 6 month program that begins in January 2027. I am excited to continue my education to provide guardians and their beloved dogs with the quality of service that they deserve.

Zoub has gone on multiple field trips while staying with me for behavior modification board and train to work on expanding her skills beyond my backyard and neighborhood. Two of those field trips were to visit and train with her guardian! πŸ’œ

A unique perk about boarding your dog with me for training is that we schedule field trips for you to see your dog's progress and to begin learning the skills needed to continue training when your dog returns home.

πŸ‘‰ Field Trip 1 involves outdoor time to practice long leash walks, outdoor engagement, proximity training, and recalls.

πŸ‘‰ Field Trip 2 involves public store training to practice loose leash walking and calm observation in busy environments.

Zou and her owner had the best time visiting and learning with each other. They are the perfect team! 🀩

Ace is a previous student of mine who stayed with me for the weekend while his guardian went on a weekend vacation. He enjoyed his visit which included mealtime enrichment and an Exercise Excursion where he got to explore and swim!

Overnight boarding is only available to clients who have completed dog training with me.

Buddy is enrolled in my Virtual Behavior Modification Program and he is making excellent progress! πŸ₯³

Buddy has Generalized Anxiety and Noise Phobias that are intensified by musculoskeletal pain. I have been working in collaboration with Buddy's guardians and veterinary team to address the problems that we have observed.

With the proper medical management, Buddy is an engaged student in the training process where he is learning skills needed for long term behavior change:

πŸ‘‰ Fitness & Conditioning to build balance, coordination, and strength
πŸ‘‰ Pattern Games to create positive associations with unknown dogs
πŸ‘‰ Confidence in the home when the environment is noisy

Buddy's milestone achievements are a testament to his guardians' dedication to improve his behavior and quality of life. I'm so proud of this team!

Zoub is making tremendous progress during her board and train stay with me for behavior modification! She has completed week 2 of the program and is learning how to put all the skills that I've taught her to use in more challenging situations.

This past week, I've focused on generalizing behaviors outside of my home which included:
πŸ‘‰ Confidence around loud outdoor noises
πŸ‘‰ Reactivity towards unknown people
πŸ‘‰ Intentional muzzle wearing
πŸ‘‰ Neutral dog parallel walks
πŸ‘‰ Neutral dog integration

Her training is far from over, she has one more week until she goes home for me to further advance her skills so that her guardians have a solid foundation to maintain and continue her learning journey.

Great job Zoub!

Majority of abnormal, maladaptive, and dangerous dog behavior is a result of unmanaged chronic pain but most times these cases do not present obvious signs of pain. Instead, I often hear dog guardians say phrases that suggest that their dog is in pain which includes:

πŸ‘‰ "My dog is very weird."
πŸ‘‰ "My dog loves people but hates being touched."
πŸ‘‰ "Some days are good and other days are bad."
πŸ‘‰ "The behavior came out of no where."
πŸ‘‰ "I can tell my dog doesn't want to hurt me."
πŸ‘‰ "My dog's behavior is very unpredictable."
πŸ‘‰ "I don't know what makes my dog upset."
πŸ‘‰ "Dog training is not working."

When I hear these phrases, pain jumps to the top of the list as a variable that is contributing to the dog's behavior and my job is to help dog guardians communicate with their veterinarian for proper diagnostics and treatment. Once pain is managed, meaningful behavior change is observed because the dog's brain can retain information that is being taught versus regulate pain signals in day to day life.

Owning a dog that has big feelings with other dogs is challenging and can feel isolating when having to restrict your dog's life to prevent dangerous outcomes. However, you do not have to walk that road alone.

I have a range of Behavior Modification services focused on creating long lasting and meaningful results with dogs who have anxiety, fear, and aggression. My goal is to provide dogs and owners with the tools needed to build a cooperative relationship and achieve individual goals.

Even as a professional dog trainer, my dogs can experience big feelings in daily life where I have to navigate their needs to develop desired behaviors instead of allowing them to habitualize problematic and dangerous behavior.

Kessel (my personal dog in the orange harness) and Olivia (a friend's dog) were reintroduced after being separated for a year. Previously, they were always together until one morning Olivia was not responding to Kessel's signals to give him space...I immediately stepped in and separated them before a dog fight happened but Kessel was very angry following that interaction so I made the choice to keep them separate for an extended period of time. He is not a dog that will forget interactions like that. It was important for it to become a distant memory.

I focused extensively on neutrality and arousal regulation around other dogs during this time which played an important role in their reintegration. They enjoyed their off leash time together this morning and I'm so happy that Kessel can have social time again!

Email [email protected] if you need help navigating your dog's anxiety, fear, or aggression to schedule a free 30 minute consultation to discuss how my services can help you find harmony with your dog.
