Meet Snowy 🤍

After spending years raising litter after litter of puppies, this sweet 7-year-old girl is finally getting the chance to simply be loved.

Snowy is mellow, gentle, and happiest lounging beside her people. She’s currently thriving in foster care with another dog and a young child and has been wonderful with both. She’s housetrained, easygoing, and perfectly content whether she’s relaxing in a crate or enjoying couch privileges.

Since arriving at SAS, Snowy has received the medical care she needed, including treatment for an infected uterus, removal of an eyelid mass, and a dental procedure and now she’s feeling so much better and ready for her forever home.

She would do best in a home without lots of stairs, but otherwise Snowy truly seems like the kind of dog who could fit beautifully into almost any family.

If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion with the sweetest soul, Snowy may be your perfect match. 🐾

Second chance update for Louisa (aka Lu Caboo) 🤍

“Two years ago on June 10th, we adopted Lu — and we’ve adored every second with her ever since. Her favorite things include sunbathing, napping on mom, and being absolutely adorable. We are so grateful to SAS. Lu is the best thing that has ever happened to our family.” ❤️

Last night we had the honor of celebrating the incredible volunteers who help make SAS what it is! 🤍

From dog walking and cat care to enrichment, fundraising, events, administration, groundskeeping, and serving on our Board of Directors, our volunteers touch every corner of this organization and every life that comes through our doors.

Highlights from 2025:
• 16,000+ volunteer service hours completed
• 447 active volunteers
• 8,760 dog walking hours
• 4,380 cat care hours
• 624 cat enrichment hours

It was such a fun and meaningful evening recognizing the people behind the mission!

A huge thank you to for hosting us and to for the incredible food that helped make the night so special.

Meet Jeep 🐦

This adorable little guy was found during the last rainstorm, and sadly, nobody came forward to claim him. Now Jeep is looking for a fresh start with someone ready to give him the care and attention he deserves.

Jeep is young, curious, and full of personality. He loves perching on your finger and chatting away about his day and honestly, we think he has a lot to say. 🤍

Birds have very specific care needs, so if you are interested in adopting Jeep, please be prepared to tell us about your bird experience and how you plan to care for him when requesting an application.

Happy tails for Peanut, now Nala! 🐾

Peanut came to SAS when her owner realized they could no longer care for her. Around the same time, an adopter with a pre-approved application called to check in after missing out on another puppy… and then they met Peanut. 🤍

It was love at first sight.

Now living her best life as “Nala,” this lucky pup spends her days with children, goats, and chickens, exactly the happy ending we dream of for every animal who comes through our doors.

Happy life, sweet girl! 🐶

Meet Snowy!

This sweet lady came to us after a life raising litters of puppies. At 7 years old, Snowy could stand to lose some weight, but she is mellow and sweet as they come. She is being fostered with a dog and a young child and is amazing with both.

She seems to find stairs challenging, so a home without a lot of those would make it easier for her to get outside. She is housetrained and was used to sleeping in her crate. In her foster, she has couch privileges, so is also fine un-crated.

She came to us with an infected uterus and a mass on her eyelid, both of which have been taken care of. Plus, she had a dental while in our care.

If you are looking for a gentle, mild-mannered new family member, who would literally fit into any home, Snowy is your match made in heaven!

George is a handsome 7-year-old guy looking for a place to call his own. He is mellow and affectionate, and would make an amazing pal and couch buddy. We don't know how he is with other animals, but imagine he would fit into most homes given time and proper introductions.
