Thank you IVDD Awareness Org for supporting us as we navigate a new diagnosis for Toby. My sweet boy had a sudden onset of IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) - he started limping and by the time we had visited the vet, he had lost the use of his back legs. Toby has been in the ICU, undergone spinal surgery, and will come home on Sunday to begin recovery. I always knew back issues were a risk for a dachshund. I had no understanding of IVDD and how rapidly a dog’s health can decline. The wonderful people at IVDD Awareness Org provide community, support, and education.

Toby, a rescue who once knew only the hardship of a backyard breeder, is now a beloved, stubborn, and smart heart of our family. Today, however, he is in the ICU fighting a sudden, aggressive case of IVDD that has left us in shock. Despite our own recent personal hardships, I am committed to giving....
