🚨 BREAKING NEWS FROM HONEST EQUINE 🚨

There’s a new sheriff in town. 🤠

He has zero qualifications and can easily be bribed with cookies. But he was the only applicant who could fit in the pants. 👖😂

Sheriff Duke will be keeping the peace at Honest Halloween on October 30th. 🎃

Please respect his authority. He’s new on the job. And whatever you do, don’t make him call for backup. 😂

Every year on my family’s birthdays, I ask them what their highlight was from the past year. As I thought about my own answer, I realized that my highlight was meeting Julia. ❤️

Julia came to the barn looking for lessons, as soon as I met her I knew she was here for a much bigger reason. She was as a lost soul, looking for Jesus but not knowing that He was who she was looking for.

Over the past few months, I’ve watched her heart begin to soften. I’ve watched her become more open to different religious perspectives, get curious and start asking questions.

When she decided to join our R&R clinic, her exact words were, “I can hang with Jesus for a weekend.” 😂 And over that weekend, I watched Jesus begin working in her heart.

At the end of the clinic, I gave Julia my Bible. It wasn’t planned. It wasn’t something I had even thought about doing. It was simply something God put on my heart in that moment. Little did I know, that one small act would have a massive impact.

After that weekend she continued asking questions. We’ve had so many profound conversations about life, faith and God. She challenged me to look at life differently too.

Fast forward to yesterday, Julia gave me the best birthday present I could have ever asked for. She gave me her Bible, the Bible she had as a child.

It meant so much to me. Looking at those tattered edges, knowing how much she’s been through in her life, and realizing that she was handing me a piece of her story was something I’ll never forget.

And then, yesterday, in the dirt of our arena, Julia prayed the prayer and asked Jesus into her heart. ❤️ She stood in the arena dirt surrounded by the very horses that helped soften her heart enough to let Jesus in.

I always knew God had a bigger purpose for bringing Julia into my life. I just didn’t know how beautiful it would be to watch that purpose unfold.

The greatest birthday gift I could have ever received wasn’t something wrapped in a box. It was watching someone I love find Jesus. Yesterday, I didn’t just get another year of life. I gained a new sister in Christ. ❤️✝️

There are barn dogs… and then there’s Tootsie. 🤎🐾

Tootsie is pretty busy! She’s the barn mascot, barn manager, supervisor, head of HR, security overseerer, lesson observer, official greeter and (perhaps her most important position) the quality-control cookie tester. 🍪😂

She takes every position very seriously… especially HR. All complaints can be submitted directly to Tootsie and will be reviewed in exchange for one cookie. 😂

But out of all her jobs, her favorite is simply loving her kids. If there are kids in the barn, Tootsie is never far away. She’s there for the lessons, the chores, the chaos, the hugs, and anything that might accidentally fall out of someone’s pocket.

Every barn needs a Tootsie. 🤎🐴🐾
