Announcement about our surgery policy:

We know that dropping your pet off for surgery can be stressful! To help ease anxiety and make the experience less stressful for both you and your pet, we have implemented a new policy.

For all planned surgeries, dentals, and ultrasound appointments, we will be recommending pre-appointment medications. This includes anti-anxiety, pain relief, and/or anti-nausea medications in the form of oral tablets.

By helping your pet start the day calmer and more relaxed, we hope to make their experience at the hospital as comfortable as possible!

If your pet has an upcoming surgery or procedure, our team will discuss whether this new medication protocol is appropriate for your pet and provide you with instructions for dosing before your appointment.

Please note that the medication will need to be picked up prior to your pet's scheduled surgery or procedure. If you do not pick up the pre-appointment medications, there may be additional charges to cover an injectable version on the day of surgery.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're always happy to discuss ways we can make your pet's visit as comfortable and successful as possible!

Due to the increase in Chewy prescriptions requests that we have been receiving, there will be a few things that you need to know.

1. Covetrus is our online store and is the preferred online portal for medications. They are very competitive with Chewy prices and also offer deals and sales. https://schwenksvillevet.covetruspharmacy.com/

2. Please allow us 1 week to approve a prescription once you have put in a request.

3. Make sure that the name and email associated with your Chewy account matches your account information with Schwenksville Vet. Failure to do this will result in us declining the prescription.

4. It is the responsibility of the Owner to manage any auto shipments and refills.

5. It is the responsibility of the Owner to place medication requests - this includes new medications and refills.

6. If you receive an email saying that your prescription is expiring, you do not need to contact us as long as you are up to date with your pet’s yearly exam.

7. If you are ordering medication refills early for a specific reason (taking advantage of a sale, lost medication, etc.) please send us an email to info@schwenksvillevet or text 484-968-9035 notifying us.

8. Reminder that if you are sharing preventatives between pets, we can only approve 12 months under each pet every year - you must switch which pet you order under to keep your prescription from being declined.

This will help our staff to approve and manage chewy requests in a timely fashion. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!
