Foster Needed

This handsome fella was seen being tossed out a passenger window by someone who thought it was trash until they got closer and realized it was an actual living being. Instead of leaving it to be hit by a car they took him in hoping to find a safe place for him and reached out to us. Most of our current fosters have a full house! Is anyone willing to foster this little guy while we get him vetted and ready for adoption? He doesn’t require much except food, water and a potty! Everything else is just you enjoying his company and kitten shenanigans! If you can foster please message us! Thank you!

MOWGLI NEEDS OUR VILLAGE ❤️‍🩹

Talk about resilient! Today our sweet 5-year-old Mowgli had his eye removed. He was thought to have glaucoma but that’s rare in a five year old cat. Off to ophthalmologist!

The specialist discovered a tumor in his eye and recommended that the eye be removed and sent for biopsy.

So today, Mowgli became our newest little pirate. 🏴‍☠️🐱

Now we wait and pray that the biopsy brings good news and that removing his eye was all that was needed. Through everything, Mowgli has shown us just how incredibly resilient animals can be. He doesn’t know why this happened. He just knows there are people loving him through it. ❤️

Specialists, surgery, testing, medications and follow-up care come with a significant cost, and we need your help.

Every $5, $10 or $20 donation adds up. When many people give just a little, together we can do something HUGE for animals like Mowgli.

🐾 Hello, Cat Lovers! ❤️

There are cats living all around Schertz who don’t have a home or a family to care for them. You may never see them when you drive by during the day, but they are there—quietly living in their colonies and depending on a few caring people to make sure they have food and fresh water every day.

For many years, a dedicated group of volunteers has been caring for these cats. They have made sure these kitties are fed, and not forgotten. ❤️

Recently, several of our volunteers have had unexpected challenges. One fractured her wrist and needed help, another had surgery and had to step away for a while, and another is dealing with medical issues right now.
Thankfully, some wonderful newer people have stepped up to help this past year and we are so grateful to them, but we still could use a few more caring hearts to join us.

We are asking for just ONE night a week. 🐱

It’s a simple but incredibly important commitment: you’ll put out food and fresh water for the cats in our colonies. All of these cats have been spayed or neutered. They don’t need to have someone take them home—they simply need someone willing to make sure they have a meal and clean water.

Some of these cats are actually social and have tried living in homes, but they have made it clear that the indoor life just isn’t for them. 😻 They are happiest where they are, and we believe they deserve to be cared for and loved exactly as they are.

These cats may not have a family of their own, but they still matter. ❤️

If you have ever looked at a homeless cat and wished there was something you could do, this is a wonderful way to help. You don’t have to rescue every cat—you just would need to help one night a week.

We can really use any brand of dry and wet cat food to feed these kitties. If you’re interested in helping with feeding the colonies, but are unable to do so physically, that’s one way you could help. We are at Petco in Cibolo and Petsmart in New Braunfels, (the one closest to Lowes) every single Saturday, from 12-4 for drop off or at our office by appointment, or you could make a monetary donation to help with these costs at homesforpets.org/donate
