A structured Heel command means the dog is simply following your left leg.

Test a TRUE heel by doing one thing, in a safe testing area. 💥DROP THE LEASH💥.

Then, Walk around obstacles. Change directions. Change speed. Stop. Your dog should mirror you.

This week I’ll clean up Zander’s heel by working around obstacles, direction changes, speed changes and abrupt stopping.

Always unpolished. HEEL takes patience and crystal clear communication. The payout is so rewarding!

Tonight Zander and I simply co existed without pressure or expectations. A peaceful break.

Dogs enter program because some dynamic in the home is incompatible between dog and owner.

My job is to train the dog by making his world much more predictable, trusting and crystal clear.

The family’s job is to adjust lifestyle, and implement good decision making so both family and dog are now compatible.

Compatibility is adjusted all day long.

Zander and I are working off leash (evening is much cooler) in the kennel area so he is fully free. Didn’t take video so I can concentrate on him.

His biggest hurdle is his desire to flight. This is still a big “go to” now that he’s off leash.

He’s been a challenge but I’m committed.

Is this Zander’s beautiful video? No, it’s his real video that requires patience, and trusting the process. Yes it’s slow, repetitive and boring. But it IS what will get results.

Not every dog needs this, actually, most don’t. But Zander does.

If you want to see the real work in a board and train, you’re on the right page. Zander’s continued training. This is the often boring but educational footage.

This stuff is often misread, misunderstood and even a safety issue as most wouldn’t see what I clearly see.
