Intake Date: 17 August 2026 ----- Age at Intake: 8 yrs ----- Breed: Yorkshire Terrier ----- Size: 8 lbs ----- Status: owner surrender ----- Compatible with: dogs, cats, children ----- Suitable for: home where he will have companionship and plenty of opportunities to explore ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: kenneled when left alone----- Additional Notes:
Meet Brody!
Brody is an 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who came to rescue as an owner surrender when his family was no longer able to keep him in their apartment. And we're just going to say it: Brody is kind of a gremlin. He's got an underbite with little canine teeth that poke out like tiny fangs, eyes that seem approximately two sizes too big for his face, and a head that seems approximately two sizes too big for his body. Structurally, we're not entirely sure what happened here. Is he conventionally handsome? That's between Brody and the Lord.

BUT... he has the SWEETEST personality! Brody is such a happy little dog. He is sweet, social, affectionate, and gets along well with both dogs and cats. Once you spend a little time with him, you quickly stop noticing that he looks like someone assembled a Yorkie from memory and start realizing what an absolute sweetheart he is.

Brody LOVES being outside. Exploring the yard might actually be his favorite thing in the entire world. He wanders, sniffs, investigates, and checks out absolutely everything like a tiny gremlin who has been appointed Director of Outdoor Affairs. There are smells to smell and important little-dog business to attend to, and Brody takes his responsibilities seriously.

Now that he's had time to settle in, we've also discovered that when his outdoor shift is over, Brody is quite the cuddle bug. He loves curling up on the couch with his people and soaking up affection. He's the perfect combination of little adventure buddy outside and professional couch warmer inside.

Why Brody might be your guy:
* Incredibly sweet, affectionate, and happy
* LOVES being outside and exploring
* Loves cuddling on the couch
* Good with dogs and cats
* Past the puppy nonsense but still ready for adventures
* Underbite and tiny vampire fangs included at no additional charge
* Approximately 73% Yorkie, 27% unidentified woodland creature

Brody does reportedly have some separation anxiety according to previous owner and should be safely kenneled when left alone. Because he genuinely enjoys being with his people, a home where he isn't routinely alone for long stretches would be a great fit.

Brody may look a little like a creature you aren't supposed to feed after midnight, but underneath all that glorious weirdness is one of the sweetest, happiest little dogs. He's ready for a forever family who will appreciate his unconventional good looks, take him outside to investigate the world, and save him a spot on the couch when the day's adventures are done.

If interested in meeting and potentially adopting, please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption can be finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175. All residents are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. A secure physically fenced yard is prioritized if a yard is present. Temperament cannot be and is not guaranteed.

Congratulations Murfee!!! 🎉 Wahoo!!

This little guy has come SO far in such a short amount of time thanks to Aloha Pet Services LLC. Training isn't just about fixing problems, it's about giving dogs the tools they need to succeed before those behaviors become more ingrained.

Murfee went from feral felon to canine companion in the blink of an eye! We are so proud of this little guy and excited for his next chapter. Sometimes a little guidance, patience, and the right people make all the difference!

Thank you for choosing adoption!!

Sweet Murfee had his big vet appointment yesterday… you know, THAT appointment. 😉🐾
He checked all the boxes and is officially ready for the next chapter of finding his forever family!

And because good things happen to those who wait, Murfee already has a meet and greet tomorrow! 🥳 Keep those paws crossed and send this sweet boy all the good luck. We are hoping this is the beginning of his happily ever after!

Jack Jack hit the Jackpot!
It's not often a young couple chooses an older dog. She said it was always her plan to adopt “the old ones.” Uhm...we must protect them at all costs! Congratulations Jack Jack. Adopted 19 August 2026.

Bath time for Phyllis means extra tummy rubs! 🛁

Phyllis has been doing SO well with routine and regular handling, baths, paw trimming, ear cleanings and all the other not-so-fun parts of being a dog. It definitely wasn’t that way at first, but with repeated exposure, lots of reassurance, a few snacks and an unreasonable amount of tummy rubs, she has learned to tolerate it all.

Maybe even enjoy it.
Maybe. 😂

She’s also doing much better with cats! She gets pretty excited to see them and happily wags her tail and follows them around. Fortunately, our cats don’t run. In fact, they carry themselves with the confidence of tiny mob bosses and would absolutely whoop Phyllis in a duel, so she respects the arrangement. Now, if a cat took off running like a scaredy…well…cat? At this point, we can’t guarantee Phyllis wouldn’t suddenly see a tasty little rotisserie chicken with legs that absolutely needed to be chased. 🍗

So we’d call her cat-compatible with the right confident, dog-savvy cats, with continued supervision and introductions.
Every little bit of exposure and routine is helping this girl learn how to be a dog in a home, and we’re pretty darn proud of her.
