It’s that time of year again and we can’t wait to see all the pups dressed for a weekend of fun at Wag-O-Ween Savannah! 🎃

Stop by and see us in City Market - we will be at Silver Silk & Beads giving out candy and dog treats with a few adoptable dogs from 12-5 Saturday and Sunday.

We will also have lots of HSGS merchandise for sale…koozies, cups, bags, t-shirts, stickers, etc. See y’all there!!

You may remember seeing Roast Beast on our page before. That was 70 days ago, and somehow, this precious girl is STILL waiting. 😭

She’s now spent 147 days at our Adoption Center, and while we love getting to spend time with her, we’d love nothing more than to see her finally head home with a family of her own.

At 3 years old, Roast Beast is a SWEET girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. You’ll find her hanging out in our Cat Playroom, where she’s slowly learning that new people can be friends. While she’s affectionate, Roast Beast will need a little extra time and patience to settle into a new home, so she’s looking for someone who understands that trust is earned, not rushed.

Roast Beast has a few special needs that her future family should be aware of. She would thrive in a quiet, low-traffic home with no dogs or young children. She’d likely be happiest as the only cat where she can be the center of attention, but she may do well with another older, calm cat. Because she can become overstimulated easily, she prefers gentle interactions and appreciates people who can read her body language.

One thing you’ll notice about Roast Beast is that she’s a big girl, weighing in at around 25 pounds! Unfortunately, her weight makes it difficult for her to groom certain areas of her body, and it can also make petting anywhere other than her head uncomfortable. Head scratches? Absolutely! Full-body pets? She’d rather pass. And while she loves to roll over and show off her adorable belly, don’t be fooled, it’s definitely a trap! 😂

The key to winning Roast Beast’s heart is moving at her pace. Give her the time and space she needs to adjust, and you’ll discover a gentle, loving companion who’s well worth the wait. And well, we think she’s been waiting long enough, so if you’re looking for a quiet friend to share your home with and have the patience to let her blossom, come meet Roast Beast.

This larger than life gal may just be your purrfect match. 🙏🧡🐾

Still thinking about what a fun day we had at our Fall Fair! 🍂🐾🧡

We kicked things off with the cutest parade in town - dogs in costumes? Say less 😍 - and the fun just kept going from there!

A HUGE thank you to our incredible sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and staff who helped bring this event to life. From all the behind-the-scenes planning to making sure everything ran smoothly on the big day, we truly couldn't have done it without you.

And of course, thank you to everyone in our amazing community who came out to spend the day with us. Seeing so many familiar faces, happy pups, and people coming together to support our mission is what makes events like this so special.

One of the best parts of what we do is getting to see our animals thriving in their forever homes. 🧡 This adoption update was too special not to share!

Thank you to the Fernandez family for taking a chance on Sabrina and giving her the absolute BEST life...

"We walked into your facility bringing Mooney back from his pawjama party. Little did we know that we were about to make the best spontaneous adoption ever. There was my daughter just spending time with all the cats, but then one caught our eyes. Now, mind you we adopted our doggy Sandy (Aka Autumn) in 2016, 2 Guinea Pigs in 2022 and Soot Sprite (Aka Pennywise) in 2023. We weren't expecting to adopt anymore. However, when you have a strong connection to a furbaby you make it happen. The staff there told us about Sabrina's medical condition. We knew it would take some time to gain her trust and get her health routine in order. We then took her home excited to start a new chapter. Now it is a year later! Sabrina is thriving. She is the most affectionate and friendly cat we have ever had the privilege to have in our lives. She holds all our hearts in the palms of her paws. Spoiled definitely! Running and playing with our 10 year Sandy, even giving her kisses, absolutely. Our Soot Sprite even gets along with her and we were shocked since he is very picky about who he lets in his friend circle..lol! As far as her condition, she is doing great. We have the right Vets for when she has flare ups which are now rare. She is so strong willed. Sabrina has brought so much joy into our home!

I just want to thank you all for all the help, advice and care during the process. Sabrina hit the jackpot when she was taken in by you all and saved. Then we hit the jackpot adopting her and having her in our lives. Our fur rescues have come from Savannah Humane Society and we are so grateful for the work you do!"

Also - when asked what is the one thing that makes you smile..."Starts talking to us when we come through the front door. You can have a tough day, but when you open that door she just talks your ear off making the day so much brighter." 🥹

This chill girl is 2 years old and has been at our Adoption Center for 2 months now. We are crossing our fingers this is the week she meets her people! 🤞🥰

What a day! Our 7th Annual Fall Fair was a HUGE success!! 🐾🎃

A huge thank you to everyone that came out for this event - we could not have done it without your help, time, and the overwhelming support from our amazing community!

We also could not have asked for a more “fall” like day and I think we can all agree, that just totally added to the vibe 😍🍂
