School’s back in, Wag Fest is over, after-school sports are in FULL swing, and we’ve got the Fun Run and Wag-O-Ween coming up… needless to say, we’ve been a little busy around here. 😂

Which means our social media has been slightly ✨neglected✨.

⚠️ IMPORTANT REMINDER ⚠️

Grooming isn’t just about keeping your dog cute, fluffy, and clean. Regular grooming can also help uncover injuries, symptoms, and even potentially life-threatening issues that may otherwise go unnoticed.

We had a friend come in yesterday for a last-second touch-up and THANK FLUFF we did. ❤️

He had been in what was thought to be a “minor” scuffle with a German Shepherd at a dog park. The friends who had him at the time checked him over and didn’t notice anything concerning, so everyone thought he was okay.

Unfortunately, when Mom brought him in, we discovered that wasn’t quite the case.

During his groom, we found a wound hidden underneath his thick coat that appeared to have come from the scuffle — and it was already beginning to show signs of infection. Because of how thick his coat is, it was barely noticeable without a really thorough hands-on check.

One thing people may not realize is just HOW MUCH we put our hands on your dogs during a groom. During the bathing process alone, we are touching every part of their body multiple times. Depending on the dog and their needs, they may get anywhere from 1–4 washes, followed by a force-air dryer for the dogs who tolerate it. That dryer also lets us see all the way down to the skin in areas that can be nearly impossible to see otherwise.

We’ve found lumps, bumps, wounds, skin infections, parasites, changes in existing growths, sore spots, and so much more simply because we are putting our hands and eyes on these dogs from nose to tail.

So PLEASE — if your dog gets into a scuffle of any kind, even one that seems minor, give them a really good check once you get home. Part the hair and look all the way down to the skin, and continue monitoring their behavior over the next couple of days. Tiny punctures can be incredibly easy to miss underneath all that fur.

And Franklin, buddy… we’re here with ya. ❤️🐾 We love you and hope you’re feeling better VERY soon.

Apparently nobody told them that when your mom owns a small business, you’re automatically hired as unpaid marketing staff. 💀

They’re requesting better pay, fewer retakes, and payment exclusively in treats.

Maybe if enough of you come see us, Mom will stop making us take videos for five freaking minutes.
