Not too many pics from our first tune up camp, but I think it’s safe to say everyone had fun and made a ton of progress ❤️ hoping to host another in July!! Who’s coming ?!

This clip is far from perfect, and honestly, it’s not even one of our best rides, but I had to share! Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to post some clips from where we started, because this guy has really come a long way💕

One thing horses have taught me time and time again is that they don’t follow timelines. They don’t care about our expectations, their pedigree, or what they’re “supposed” to be able to do. Every horse is an individual, and one of the most important parts of training is meeting them exactly where they are.

It doesn’t matter what their breeding says or what experiences they’ve had before; our job is to listen, learn, and help them move forward from the horse standing in front of us today.

Every ride is an opportunity to educate, build confidence, and create a partnership where the horse wants to work with us. That means getting to know who they are, what motivates them, and even their little quirks. (try riding this horse if he came in from the field and didn’t p*e first!! 😂)

This horse didn’t always nicker when he saw me coming; the donuts probably helped a lot, but so did the time spent teaching him that we’re on the same team. Call it being soft, or spoiling them rotten, but I truly don’t feel that they see it that way.

The horses that challenge us the most often end up teaching us the most. It’s both a blessing and a curse that these types seem to find me, but watching them grow into confident partners makes every step of the process worth it. ❤️

There’s a big difference between a horse that has to work for you and one that actually wants to.

At the end of the day, training isn’t just about rides, ribbons, sales, or getting through a program as quickly as possible. The horses that stay confident, willing, and consistent are usually the ones that feel understood and comfortable in their environment.

I want mine to come to me because they trust the process — not because they’re forced into it. Some horses need patience, some need structure, some need a job, and some just need time to realize they’re safe.

They’re never “just another ride” here, and I think they know that. 🤍
