Sometimes what looks like "bad behavior" is actually communication. 🐾
Here are three things your dog might be trying to tell you:
1. “I need some space.”
Walking away, avoiding interaction, or moving behind you can be your dog's way of communicating discomfort.
2. “This is too much for me.”
Overstimulation can make it difficult for a dog to think, learn, or respond to cues they normally know.
3. “I don't understand what you want.”
If a behavior hasn't been clearly taught or reinforced in that particular situation, your dog may genuinely be unsure what you're asking.
Understanding behavior starts with learning to listen.
The goal isn't simply to stop a behavior. It's to understand what's happening underneath it so we can respond appropriately. 🤎
